Summary: The N78-3, which is the North American version of the Nokia N78, has many features. It lacks VoIP, TV out, an accelerometer, and it won't wash your car. Just about any other mobile device feature currently available is on this device. What is on there is well executed. GPS is very accurate and fast. Internet Radio is far ranging in content and quality of signal. Here's the low down. » Symbian OS. This is what makes smart phones smart. » 2.4 inch LCD.
Excerpt: Though it also has bluetooth but it doesn’t have infrared. With regards to its memory, I have bought an SD card for it as an extenal memory but it already has 76MB internal memory. It has GPRS just like most of the phones now. Actually, just like most of the phones, Nokia N78 is not different but it has a lot of features. And most importantly, it is so thin and easy to bring. I just like using it.
Excerpt: But if you are more on calls than text messaging then this unit will do. My husband likes the FM transmitter which is one of the feature of Nokia N78. You can play music to your stereo or car stereo using your cellphone. You just need to select an FM frequency on your car stereo, set the same FM frequency to your phone, activate it then play. Presto! Your car stereo will play the music. For overall rating… I’ll give Nokia N78 a 7 out of 10.
Summary: Has almost every feature you might want in a smartphone, and in a sleek size and form factor. The 3.5G is lightning-fast. (Get unlimited Data plan or else you will go broke!) The Wi-Fi is great, Music player is good. Screen is beautiful. The Operating System of the Phone - I am not 100% used to it yet, and I don't like the way I'm slowed down sometimes, trying to get from point A to point B.
"Great Features, A bit uncomfortable, Not 100% bug-free"
3 March 2009
Pros: It has everything you could want in a phone (Wi-Fi, A-GPS, 3.5G US, Hi Q Music, Video Cam, Zeiss Lens, Stereo-Bluetooth, Beautiful Display) - a few features even the iPhone lacks. Built in FM radio receiver and transmitter (to play over car radios.)
Cons: Buttons, while better than you'd think, still don't work flawlessly; Speakerphone problems, but that may be due to a blown speaker (1 of the stereo pair). Navi-wheel does double clicks when you push it up sometimes. Strange buttons, but usually work.
Excerpt: I just got this phone about a week ago and it is splendid so far. Before buying the n78,I noticed that most people were making a fuss about its battery cover, its ''awkard'' design and rather ''odd'' keypad. Contrary to such views, I find this phone perfectly framed from battery cover to keypad.
