See lessNokia's E62 was always, comparatively speaking, the runt of the smartphone line in North America: outside of Europe, it was always sidestepped in favor of BlackBerries and Windows Mobile devices even before smartphones like the BlackBerry 8800 and the AT&T Tilt (HTC TyTN II) threatened to sweep the Nokia phone away. The E71 marks Nokia's return with a vengeance and is a dramatic improvement over the old device, though whether it's enough to unseat favorites in Canada and... Read more
Everyone of our team liked the Nokia E71, even though none of us is a downright business user. With it, you’ll be able to easily organize and optimize your work so that you’ll have more free time for yourself and your favorite hobbies. Our only serious remark is about the camera. Yes, it’s not a main factor when buying a business phone, but when you pay about $450 for a phone, you’d expect that everything in your new device should be top-notch, right? Read more
AT&T Hobbles Perfectly Good Smart Phone Last year we reviewed the Nokia E71 , a phone that came straight outta Finland unlocked, with a powerful array of business and multimedia features. It was balanced, it was beautiful and it worked perfectly. We loved it so much, the handset won our Best of Test award for mobile phones in 2008, even managing to trump the iPhone 3G in the battle for cellular supremacy. That's why we were a little dismayed by the E71x. The device is... Read more
Conclusion The Nokia E71x offers a great deal of bang for the buck. It's well-made, super-slim, attractive, has a good QWERTY keyboard, good reception and Nokia's usual very good voice quality. AT&T adds way too much bloatware(icons for trial apps and games you'll probably never use), but performance in terms of speed and stability is good (and similar to the unlocked E71). For $99 with contract, it's hard to find anything to complain about, the Nokia E71x is a good... Read more
The bottom line: Affordably priced, the Nokia E71x for AT&T is an incredible value for business users and consumers looking for a robust messaging smartphone. Read more
This is the best phone I have used by far. I owned the iPhone, the Nokia E61i and almost all the smartphones you could think of. This one far surpasses every one of them. I want to start off with the speediness of the symbian OS. Everything loads instantaneously on this phone. I noticed NO delay compared to my E61i. The keyboard is very pleasant to type on. It is a good balance of plasticky and rubbery. The screen is very vibrant and bright. You can do so much with just... Read more
Have this phone for a week. Loving every minute of it. All application run smoothly. Responsive OS. Keypad need time to get use to it. Manage to install MSN Live, Nimbuzz, GarminXT, all good. However the picture quality is a bit behind, on screen the picture look nice, but once transfer to PC the quality is below par even comparing to Motorola 2MP camera. Still one word, EXCELLENT. Overall this phone is meant only for business people (who should be handling the phone with extreme caution) and strictly not for any other people cos of its expensive repair cost and bad multimedia feature. Meant only for more battery life/ security/ e-mail / wi-fi Read more
I have been a Nokia owner of many models before...bottom line is not many phones have been practical, easy to use, yet provided all the neat stuff you can use on a phone. Since I am pretty bad with caring for my phones in a year's time I went thru literally three phones (2LG's and Motorola)that I broke (rather easily)...When I went to the dealer I saw that Nokia had its first affordable PDA model the N71x and being a very happy Nokia Pre-owner I was sold right there and... Small, lightweight, well-featured. This phone is easier to type on than many of the larger PDAs out there... probably something to do with the way they curved the tops of the keys. The application layout is easy to navigate and everything I've used it so far has worked well. I've had it for about 6 months now and am quite happy with it. The battery life is decent, so is the sound quality and the screen is quite clear. Easy to set up setting sets for notifications... Read more
