The E70 is a PDA phone from Nokia and is an addition to the “business-minded” E series. It comes in a candy-bar model but also holds a full and roomy QWERTY keyboard that can be accessed by flipping up the numerical keypad. The phone runs Symbian OS and provides a good range of corporate tools including standard email support, Wi-Fi connectivity, applications for viewing and editing Microsoft Office Documents, a PDF reader and the Nokia web browser. Unlike other members of the E series, the E70 adds to entertainment with a 2-megapixel camera and a decent range of shooting options. There’s also an included MP3 player which allows users to upload and playback music from their PC.

While the E70 packs great features, the Symbian OS barely keeps up with the phone’s functions. During test runs at PC World, the phone crashed several times, especially when trying to switch between applications. Refreshing screens and playing music while performing other functions were also quite quirky. Otherwise, the E70 is a very good performer. Call quality is generally impressive, with no real complaints. The camera produces excellent pictures and the MP3 player maintains good sound quality even at high volumes. Battery life is outstanding with an astounding 9 hours of talktime. To conclude, the E70 is definitely a winner, brilliantly combining a wide range of business tools while keeping multimedia interests in mind. It is highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-equipped handset.
