The Nokia E5 is a mobile phone designed with features to help balance business and leisure time by providing users with the platform to access email while on the go and features support for corporate and personal email applications. It allows users to browse the web and email with 3G, HSDPA, or WLAN connection; supports voice calls over the internet with the built-in WLAN and lets users stay connected with friends and family.

The Nokia E5 is a GSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/2100 MHz mobile phone that supports xHTML web browser and integrated WLAN (IEEE 802.11g) with WLAN wizard that searches for available WLAN networks and keeps users connected online. It also features Bluetooth® connectivity with enhanced data rate (EDR) for advanced audio distribution, audio video remote control, basic imaging, dial-up networking, file transfer, generic audio video distribution, generic object exchange, handsfree, headset, object push, and SIM Access. The mobile phone supports S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 user interface, email with POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP protocols, attachment viewers, dedicated email key, and LED indicator for new email messages; third-party solutions including mail for Exchange, Visto Mobile, and Seven Always-on; option to select desired email account to read/write messages from, instant messaging (supports Yahoo, AOL, OMA 1.2, MSN), SMS text messages and MMS for sending messages with pictures, video clips, and audio clips attached. Other features on the Nokia E5 includes a 2 megapixel camera with 4 x digital zoom for high quality still imaging and video capture in H.264 (MPEG-4) format; GPRS/EGPRS (Class A, multi-slot class 32) data transfer rates, a 2" (240 x 320 pixels), active-matrix color display supports up to 16 million colors; up to 130 MB of user data memory that is expandable up to 4 GB with hot swappable microSD card; an MP3 music player, FM Radio: lets you see information about songs or artists, and read up on celebrity news; personal information management (PIM) functions such as contacts, calendar and to-do list: supports PC synchronization with Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes via Nokia PC Suite; and has an M2 Hearing Aid Compatibilty Rating. The mobile phone measures 4.49 x 1.81 x 0.47 in and weighs 3.53 oz.
