Nokia Asha 305 Review

Tech2
10 October 2012
  • Summary: For Rs 5,029, the Nokia Asha 305 is a good package for those who want a compact dual-SIM phone with touchscreen. What we liked most about this phone is the battery life and audio playback. It would have been nice if the user interface was more fluid and the touchscreen was capacitive. But then, you have the option of buying the Asha 311, which is a much better deal for Rs 1,600 more.

  • Conclusion: With all above said, you probably already got a sense of what type of a device the Nokia Asha 305 is. Cheap. With all the implications of the word. From the cheap plastic up front to the somewhat sluggish performance that mars the good interface ideas in the new Series 40. As a compromise-driven device, it’s the budget-savvy customer that it appeals to most.
  • Pros: Cheap, Series 40 UI refreshed, looks much better
  • Cons: Resistive touchscreen cripples the experience, Device feels underpowered, lags, No Wi-Fi connectivity

Nokia Asha 305 review: Smarter 2gether

GSM Arena
3 August 2012
  • Conclusion: Dumbphones have a lot to put up with these days. They're looked down upon or, if they're lucky, simply overlooked. It gets even worse for dual-SIM dumbphones, confined to their niche at the very bottom of the food chain. The "let them eat cake" attitude has done no one any good but that's exactly what feature phones have to deal with. Nokia are not giving up though. Skeptics would say it's because they have no other choice.
  • Pros: Dual-band GSM, GPRS, EDGE, Dual SIM dual stand-by, SIM hot-swap, S40-based Asha touch interface, 3" WQVGA resistive touchscreen, ~155 pixel density, Multi-touch in the gallery and Nokia Maps, Display auto-rotation, Nokia Browser 2.0, Nokia store and 40 EA games for free, 2 MP camera, microSD card support (up to 32 GB), Complimentary 2 GB microSD card in the box, Bluetooth v2.1, Standard microUSB port, charging, 1100 mAh Li-Ion battery, Excellent loudspeaker performance
  • Cons: Interface slows down at times, due to low RAM, Poor screen quality, Resistive touchscreen feels awkward, Fixed-focus camera, QCIF video recording, No smart dialing

  • Summary: The Lumia range of devices were meant to revive the Nokia's image as well as its coffers. However much to the disappointment of CEO Stephen Elop, the Lumia-branded handsets didn't payoff as anticipated. Luckily for the company though, its investment in the feature-smartphone market has resulted in success. Capitalizing on the popularity, the Finnish giant recently unveiled another low-cost, low-spec, pseudo-feature phone in the Asha family.

Review: Nokia Asha 305

Techtree
4 October 2012
  • Excerpt: The handset's 3" resistive touch screen has pixel dimensions of 240x400. The display is good enough for indoor use, but there's no setting to raise or lower the brightness. This is made worse by the lack of an ambient light sensor. To top it off, the screen is very reflective. Overall, the viewing experience leaves a lot to be desired. Nokia hasn't provided any information regarding the CPU that powers this phone.
  • Pros: Great sound quality; Hot-swappable SIM slot; Sturdy build.
  • Cons: Resistive touchscreen; Fixed display brightness; Mediocre video player; Lacks proper multitasking.

Test du Nokia Asha 305

top-for-phone.fr
19 November 2014

igeek.ru
4 October 2014

smsochka.ru
29 March 2013
