Summary: As we know, this unit was released 6+ years ago and the technology is changing fast. I would say, this unit is still great. I mean, I dont mind carrying this unit around(although its kinda bulky) but yeah! I still like its features eventhough theres no lights on its keypad. Would still rate it "4 Stars"!!!
Nokia 9500 Almost the perfect phone/laptop replacement
3 May 2007
Summary: Initial setup is fairly standard for a Nokia with no surprises. The menu structure on the front face is about what we have come to expect from Nokia and in general easy to navigate. I had looked at the measurements online and even so was surprised at how large it was and the weight is substantial. I have found that the 9500 reception drops considerably or all together when entering many buildings.
Across the USA with my unlocked Nokia 9500 using C & T
17 November 2006
Summary: I bought it new online more than a year ago and payed $700 for it. The vender claimed it works on 800/1900 in the US. In fact it does NOT operate in the 800 band. I had both Cingular and T-mobile DATA accounts, and I switched the SIM cards back and forth to see how it worked all across the USA.
Excerpt: Once, I try to finished my job by this mobile while meet friends in cafe, I worked in excel, even it’s not fast but it can help me to finished the job for next day. In the morning next day I’d like to copy my job from communicator to my computer, but in fact I cant copyed it, so disappointed that I have to do my job twice. From that experience, I learn, if we not familiar with the system on media we work in, don’t work on it, it’s just waste our time.
