Summary: The phone is very impressive. Big large screen and fonts. The scrolling is a bit sluggish when you start but it then works perfectly. The app store had all the required apps viz. whatapp, skype, viber but lacked some good games. Overall I am very happy with the phone and I am sure the one whom I will be gifting the phone will also be.
"Behind on specs with an unproven OS -beautiful hardware"
8 November 2011
Pros: Nice looking phone. Audio playback better than most other manufacturers, but not as good as iPhone. Love the industrial design and scratch proof case.
Cons: Windows 7.5 willbe hard to accept by most users except for experimenters. For a 3.7" screen, I prefer the retina display. No dual core could trouble even the experimenter crowd. The camera is ok, but not as good as Apple.
Nokia Lumia 800: Nokia Lumia does not really light my world
3 weeks ago
Summary: When I first brought this phone I loved it. To look at it was not spectacular, just a basic rectangle shape completely black and it is quite a slim phone. The problem is with the Lumia is that it has been so quickly overtaken by various other phones on the market. As a mid range mobile it keeps its head above the water. With access to the internet fairly rapid and quick access to emails it was a little dream, showing it off to friends I was happy.
Nokia Lumia 800: Love it and hate it simultaneously. I'll stay on the fence.. ...
4 November 2013
Summary: The Nokia Lumia 800 is my first foray into the world of smart phones. I already had an Ipod Touch, so was familiar with the Apple smartness and usability but when I saw a great contract deal with Tesco Mobile (15pm) I couldn't resist. I had previously seen other people with Nokia Windows Phone, and admired them from a distance so was excited to finally be able to get one.
NOKIA TRIES TO SAVE FACE (Microsoft COULD NOT CARE LESS)
17 August 2013
Summary: I have been a loyal NOKIA customer ever since my first mobile, the legendary 6110 (and what a great phone that was!). Over the years I have upgraded or simply replaced a number of NOKIAs and my loyalty may have been tested at times but it was never scorned. Until recently. My latest 6500s was at its last of its nine lives (after its second battery replacement and numerous drops) so I decided to bite the bullet and go shopping for a smartphone.
Summary: got this phone almost 18 months ago, really pleased with it, does everything I want it to, BUT battery does not last 24 hrs if you use it to its full potential so need to charge up twice a day. Having now recharged it probably in excess of 1000 times the battery has died and cannot be 'user replaced' this is not good when on a 2 year contract! would have given 5 star rating but for this. anyone else come across this problem?
