Review: Nokia 700, part 1: hardware and OS overview
All About Symbian

Summary: This is the first Symbian Belle smartphone to be formally reviewed on All About Symbian, though of course we've covered the new OS update in some depth previously. The 700 is billed as the "smallest smartphone in the world" (being only 50cc in volume) and, within that context, it's superbly functional, with a full suite of most things we've already seen and enjoyed in previous Symbian^3 phones, all in an incredibly compact form factor.
Conclusion: The Nokia 700 is a solid addition to Nokia's line-up, it's small, stylish and speedy, with a great screen. However, some may find it a little too small and Nokia's app store still lags behind rivals, in choice compared to the Xperia Ray. However, this is still a solid mid/high-end smartphone.
Pros: Fantastic build quality, Great screen, 1Ghz processor, Symbian tweaks improve user experiance
Cons: Typing can be hard on the small screen, Limited apps, Some actions take too long to complete
Conclusion: We are quite pleased with the Nokia 700 's compact design - the handset is very easy to handle and a pleasure to look at in one of its many colors. People who frown at the huge smartphones of today will definitely find its size appealing. Symbian Belle is a big step up over its predecessors, taking away the right pages from the other mobile operating systems like resizable widgets, a pull-down notification bar and connectivity switches, but lacking in 3rd party apps.
Pros: Very compact handset, Pentaband radio and good call quality, Free voice-guided navigation in about 100 countries, Rich video codec support, including DivX/Xvid and MKV
Cons: Blurry pictures and video and no macro mode, No front-facing camera, Small and uncomfortable buttons on the side
Nokia 700 review: A superbly crafted smartphone that looks and feels slick

Summary: The Nokia 700 is a fantastically well built phone with a crystal clear screen. The small display makes text messaging and Web browsing inferior to alternatives, and third-party apps are limited compared to the competition, but the Nokia 700 remains a solid smartphone.
Pros: Great build quality and design, Bright and clear screen, Slick and easy to use
Cons: Tiny on-screen keyboard, Small screen, Limited third-party apps
Excerpt: If you ever needed evidence that the mighty can fall, then take a look at Nokia. A firm that was unstoppable until the iPhone was launched, it has since faltered and stumbled at every step. Or so it seems to some commentators. Perhaps the firm ignored the Sony Walkman lesson of "you can be big one year, and insignificant the next" but it certainly fell victim of it.
Pros: Lovely hardware, small and light, great screen, superb call quality, microSD slot, great battery life
Cons: Too small for larger human fingers, camera is rubbish
Excerpt: The Nokia 700 is a neat little smartphone with a solid and tidy physical design. At just 92g in weight and overall measurements of 110x50x9.7mm it may appeal if you want your smartphone to fit into a small pocket and like the idea of being able to reach right across the screen for one-handed use.
