User Review

  • Excerpt: The phone randomly shuts off. I've had the phone replaced and after a few weeks the new one began shutting off as well. I had read some reviews before getting the phone in the first place and since only a few mentioned this problem I ignored it.
  • Pros: Simple phone, Ok battery life, Easy to use
  • Cons: Randomly shuts off mid-call/text or even just sitting in your pocket, Easily scratched

There are better options.

  • Excerpt: I don't ask much from a phone. Talking, texting, and a slightly cool/fun look are about all I need. That said, this phone doesn't do it for me. I upgraded and chose this one over the Nokia 6085, which I thought was a bit plain. Bad call. Everyone with that phone likes it- very reliable. Mine is not.

Mediocre

  • Excerpt: I have had the phone for one year now. Pros: -screens are in great condition -battery life is decent -easy to download and locate items -calls are easy to understand Cons: -If you text too "fast" the phone turns off, resulting in the battery dying and frustration. -The calender alarms don't work.

not great

  • Excerpt: Pros: it's an easy phone to use Cons: The battery life is so low that I have a charger at home, work and the car to overcome the issue. I also experience the phone shutting down a lot. When I remove and reinstall the battery, it seems to clear the problem for a week or so. I would not buy it again.

Very poor quality electronics (short circuits, speakers that cut in and out...)

  • Excerpt: It seemed nice. At first. I've had this thing for about a year now. The battery life has never been good. It is a nice looking phone, and a comfortable size and length. The call quality is good enough -- back when the phone still worked.

  • Excerpt: Looked like a great phone, but then it started turning off by itself, getting voice mails for calls I never got, and frequently get network busy when I try to make a call.

Battery Life Makes this phone mediocre

  • Summary: Just got this phone on Weds, as replacement for my old Nokia - I was looking for a phone that is reliable, easy to use, has texting capabilities, sleek, has a streamlined design, a loud alarm (I rely on my phone to wake me up), and takes clear pictures.

not a good upgrade for classic Nokia lovers

  • Summary: I've been a hard-core Nokia-only user for years (my last 4 or 5 phones.) My old candy-bar style Nokia with a tiny screen was getting old, so when I heard about this hot new flip phone from Nokia that was the same size, I wanted it. Well, I got it and it isn't that great.

Good but fragile

  • Summary: First, the bad. I purchased the Nokia 6555b from AT&T Jan 8, 2008. Three weeks later the exterior mini-display was cracked and inoperable. I had worn it on my belt while driving and my seat belt buckle put enough pressure on the mini-display to crack it. VERY disappointing.

Short Battery Life is Fatal Flaw !

Allegrobas, Amazon

  • Summary: This is a beautiful GSM/3G phone with a bright, colorful screen and many features found in more expensive devices. The Nokia 6555 will find the tower signal even if you live on Mars, and it will do it with great call clarity.
