No bells and whistles, not text friendly but remain loyal to Nokia brand
20 September 2011
Summary: Knowing that the Nokia 5300 is not one of the "latest, greatest" cell phones, and I could care less about taking pics or listening to music, its just a basic cell phone I purchased for sole purpose of being able to have the Bands to use it from outside the USA. One tremendous drawback is fact that with sooooo many newer phones having keypads, etc. and everyone rather text than talk--this is NOT the phone to use!!
Excerpt: Good phone for its price. 1.3mp cam is good enough for everyday photos, a bit dull though. Video capture is horrible, with stuttering frame-rates. Mediaplayer is not very user friendly, and it's not very special either: its the same mediaplayer as on most mid-range Nokia Phones. Louspeakers produce great treble and bass sounds. Media buttons are easy to use and press. Don't bother with web browsing, coz its slow and has limited connectivity options.
Pros: Durable, Great Speaker, Screen (265k colors), Music Buttons, Long Battery Life, Camera (photos), CHEAP
Cons: Feels CHEAP, Ugly, Videa Capture is horrible, Bulky, Standard S40 mediaplayer/not special
