The handset features a responsive touchscreen with tactile feedback, an accelerometer for auto-rotate and a proximity sensor to save power and prevent inadvertent touches. It also sports a 3.2 inch, 640 x 360 pixels (nHD) with 16:9 picture and up to 16.7 million colours Full touchscreen display. The device also supports dedicated keys for camera, volume, power, send & end, and application launch (menu), plus the media bar touch key for accessing music, gallery, share online, video centre and web browser; homescreen music plug-in for pause/play, forward, back and voice commands input controllers. The Nokia 5230 is available in White/Red, White/Dark Silver, White/Pink, White/Yellow, White/Blue, Black/Red or Black/Dark Silver (changeable colour battery covers available). It also supports a Micro-USB connector, USB 2.0 high speed, 3.5 mm Nokia AV connector, microSD memory card slot, with hot swap max. 16 GB and a 70 MB internal dynamic memory. The Nokia 5230 is powered by the BL-5J 1320 mAh Li-Ion standard battery that provides up to 7 hours (GSM)/ 4 h 18 min (WCDMA) of talk time and up to 438 h (GSM)/458 h (WCDMA) of standby time. It supports up to 4 4.6hours of MPEG video playback time (3 hours nHD) and 33 hours of music playback time (maximum).

Features

The Nokia 5230 is a dual band 900/2100 WCDMA and 850/1900 WCDMA/GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz network bandwidth mobile phone that supports automatic switching between GSM bands. The Nokia 5230 also supports local connectivity and synchronization such as Bluetooth version 2.0 (A2DP, AVRCP), MTP (Mobile Transfer Protocol) support, Direct printing to compatible picture printers and PC synchronisation with Nokia Ovi Suite. Other features on the Nokia 5230 includes Flight Mode, Speaker-independent name dialling (SIND) service, integrated hands-free speakerphone, number screening for messaging and calls, and contacts bar for 20 contacts with images and communication history (SMS, email, web feeds). It also allows users to initiate conference calling with up to 6 participants. The Nokia 5230 also supports GPS and navigation (with Ovi Maps 3.0 application), supports a 2 megapixel camera with 3x digital zoom and capabilities to record videos up to 640 x 480 pixels and up to 30 fps (TV high quality); and supports a photo and video editor on device. It also features a music player, is powered by S60, 5th Edition and Symbian OS version 9.4.
