  • Summary: A great hard-to-find, dependable cell phone by Nokia! It goes great with the DCH-12 speakerphone/charger, a nice combination if you're looking to go wireless at home!

This is one of the best phones for the money!

bichela, Ebay
30 December 2007
  • Summary: I bought this phone on Ebay several months ago for a friend who wanted something that was "Old School." Being this phone is only 1900 it is only usable with T-mobile for the most part. But... If thats not an issue then you will love the way this phone works and responds. Its built Tough, like FORD tough! tha batteries slide on and off (like on a Camcorder) and they hold quite a charge. The controls are very simple to use.

A real workhorse!

  • Summary: Unfortunately local grown phones just dont seem today to offer the plain styling and rugged construction and plain old versatility of the 5190 from "Nokia". Ive owned mine for seven years now and have been tickled pink with it. Lots of battery life from a single charge. You can leave it plugged in every night and you never have to worry about it in this respect again till you re-charge as needed. They just dont make them like they used to.

Old school phone

boe3258, Ebay

  • Summary: The reason I like this phone is because it's simple. All I want is a dependable phone. Not a camera or an orchestra or anything else. Just a simple phone to call friends and family. I had my first Nokia 5190 for seven years. It wasn't broken. It was stolen. So, I bought another one because I know how dependable it is. 'nough said?

Nokia 5190

paintkarz, Ebay
7 October 2005
  • Summary: The Nokia 5190 is a great phone, although they have been around for a while, and seem a little larger then new models, this phone can take a beating and still work. I have seen these phones dropped from ladders, fall off the tailgate of moving trucks, etc, and still work afterwords. Great battery life, accessories and chargers are easy to find when you need one, and all that adds up to this phone being my favorite all time cell phone.

O Nokia

crkrman, Ciao
7 September 2003
  • Excerpt: "My nokia 5190 series phone has been the best cell phone ever. It has withstood being dropped more than 200 times. It has also been run over by a 5-ton truck and I was able to call someone and tell them about it. The only disadvantage I have had was that screens, faceplates and batteries are no being harder and harder to find. The nokia 5190 also has poor reception in basements and elevators, but no one's phone works there anyways. I really like how ...
  • Pros: Built like a tank
  • Cons: Hard to find batteries and parts now

  • Excerpt: "Any of the Nokia 5120-6160 products are excellent phones when it comes to ease of use, and battery life. Dialing is much easier than other phones - namely the StarTac and Ericsson LX588. I love all of the features. The phone book is easy to use - just scroll down and press call. Last number redial is wonderful. The more "one button" dialing features, the better. There are even games on it if you are bored. I had to struggle to use the features on ...
  • Pros: Easy to use features  -  LONG battery life
  • Cons: Uncomfortable as a clip - on
