Excerpt: Being forced to use two phones (work + private) I decided I don't wont to use 2 smart phones that require tweaking and lots of attention. Since my work provided me an iPhone (I know, very nice of them), I was looking for something to complement it, something for phones plus text messaging....
Summary: The battery has run its course but am happy with it I have dropped it tens of times, phone works like a charm though lately having issues with the hearing and the loudspeaker. but cant blame it really.
Summary: I needed a new phone & really fancied a smart phone. However, I work on the motorway & after observing several colleagues destroy expensive phones, I decided to evaluate what I actually needed rather than wanted. I needed !/ A fairly compact phone, solid enough to take knocks, bumps & water.
Summary: After months of searching for a suitable phone for my husband who is in the building trade, this model was mentioned. There are not many easy to use, robust phones that large fingers can use, however this was is one of them.
Summary: When I was shopping for a phone, I was after a phone that would give me a longer battery life and this phone is just that. It is also a strong phone. Am a bit clumsy - last week this phone droped while I was going downstairs and it didnt even go off. I am enjoying my phone!
Summary: Although Nokia claim that this phone is rugged and videos can be found on the net which show this, the truth is that my one year old son was able to do what a golf club and a swimming pool were unable to do... that's kill my old 3720. The new one is already showing signs of wear on its screen which is far from scratch resistant. On the whole nonetheless it is the best value for money rugged phone I have found.
Summary: good idea to have this kind of phone as i work in a hrsh environment. Looks and feels good and works like a good un. Reliable, simple yet very functional. It is not however completely water and drop proof. Showing off to my mates in the pub i put the nokia in a pint of lager for 5 seconds, then dropped it. To my dismay and embaressment, it no longer worked. DOH! I will be buying another one though. good for dust proof and splashes etc and general drops and knocks.
Summary: This is the first Nokia toughy phone since my 5140i died. This is quite elegant and not as "lets off-road". It is not 3G (but is quad band GSM) and the interface and performance is very good. I only had to google two items on the menus for explanations. As ever there are a couple of niggles: 1, The strength comes from a brushed metal finish bezel.
