Summary: This is a simple phone that I purchased for short-term temporary use overseas while traveling. If you are looking for something to make and receive calls, a phone you won't have to charge everyday, a phone that gets good reception, something simple and cheap that you don't really care if you drop it, break it, lose it, or if it gets stolen... then I think you found the perfect match.
Summary: Chose this Rating as the Service was good. This is a replacement for the 1280 I smashed the Display casing on, not that the phone is fragile or anything, but it did get a bashing. I could only get a non-Nokia replacement casing from Amazon, which was just poor and fell to pieces. It amazes me why it's always recommended for 1. old People 2. Kids 3. Festivals 4. Techno idiots. This is just an Ultra reliable phone for anyone and everyone.
Summary: I love it! Basic phone with proper buttons and familiar Nokia menus. I bought this phone after trying a couple of big button ones and find it so easy to use. Like many older gardeners my fingers are stiff but my ears, eyesight and other faculties are still in good order! Although big button phones satisfy the need for easy buttons, sadly they come with HUGE text and loud speakers and I found them very difficult to reset menu choices so...
Summary: What a pity that this phone has been discontinued... it is more economical to make phones with colour screens. Unlike newer colour screen phones, the black and white lets me disable the back-light which means even more battery life. Although I no longer see the screen in the dark, it does puts less strain on the eyes, as they did hurt when the back-light was on (and I have memorized the key combinations I need).
Summary: Just got it yesterday. Looks smooth, super solid, radio works great, light as well, there is talking clock, 3 games (snake even has a head and moves like a snake), though it is 2D and menu reminds Nokia 3310, it is much smaller and so light, that 3310 is beaten many times, and the SMS has same 3310 sound ti-ti ti-ti, so it makes a perfect classic phone of these days! I can not say how much I love it, I will look for different color to buy one for my darling.
Summary: The only basic mobile phone you'll ever need. I just bought my second replacement handset and it looks like I won't be giving up on this model any time soon. Hard wearing, durable and practical, it beats any model in its class.
Summary: So easy to use, I`ve had no problems whatsoever, whereas my previous touchscreen mobile was a nightmare! It actually took less time to set it up than it took to take the sim card out of my old phone! For anybody who spends their time totally frustrated by modern technology, this mobile is an absolute delight to own, and the colour`s great to boot.
Summary: The Nokia 1280 is an ideal basic phone which takes up very little room in a bag (and we women always carry way too much in our bags!) and is very easy to use. If you want a handset like this one, I would recommend it highly.
