Nice Little Phone

Frozen Girl, Phone Scoop
16 April 2010
  • Excerpt: Originally had the U6 then updated to the U9. This is my second one. Dropped the first one and the ringer died. No problems with this one and have had over a year. Small size, easy to carry. Keys are way better than the earlier version. NOT for someone with large hands!

  • Excerpt: I love Motorola U9, and I’m here today to say that I will never change my mobile phone again now that I have this amazing phone. The features make me spend the whole day having fun with it. Listening to music, watching videos that I can record for myself …

Motorola U9

subzeroblu, ReviewStream
25 February 2010
  • Excerpt: The Motorola U9 is one of the older models but still a pretty good phone. In my personal opinion it’s more of a ‘girl’ phone, especially given the general shape of it and the fact that it is electric purple. The phone itself has a pretty good battery life …

Not so great

Jeffrey L., Newegg
5 January 2010
  • Summary: I wanted to like it, it has great features, but i just don't. It's so clumsy, i've had it for several months and i just can't get a grip on it, drop it alot, and have a hard time opening it with 2 hands let alone one. Somebody thought too long about looks and not long enough about function.
  • Pros: Great screen resolution, the outer screen is nifty. It worked flawlessly with T-Mobile.
  • Cons: 1. It's like picking up a flat smooth stone, hard to hold onto, very easy to drop. 2. Difficult to open 1 handed (see 1.) 3. Got so scratched up in just a few days. 4. The camera resolution doesn't reflect the picture quality, it's terrible (but i guess most cell phone cameras are) 5. Buttons are...

Great little phone...

Anonymous, Newegg
3 January 2010
  • Pros: Great quality sound. I bought it for my mom, she wanted a phone that is simple for her to use, fits into a pocket easily and sounds good. This phone hit all three for under $100. Fast delivery from Newegg as always and surprisingly good phone from Moto. Granted by today's standards this phone's f...
  • Cons: The camera is not very good, however the phone does everything i bought it for just fine.

  • Excerpt: I’m very bias regarding this cute clamshell but I’m going to try to stay neutral for accuracies sake. I’ll start of with the price. It can be found at around $100, so for that price remember not to expect too much. It has all the features required by a phone …

A trade off

Michael M., Newegg
13 November 2009
  • Pros: Nice looks, good voice quality, clear colorful screen responsive so far. Better service than my last phone. -Took my SIM card right away for T-Mobile.
  • Cons: Take this with a grain of salt, I'm very hard on phones. -The way ring tones and profile themes are set up, you are unable to make it so it rings for calls and vibrated for texts/voicemail. Either ring/noise for all alerts or vibrate for all. -Hitting the green button for recent calls sometimes t...

Luv My U9

Anonymous, Newegg
4 September 2009
  • Summary: Anyone who says purple is girly is living a dull life indeed.
  • Pros: Worked right out of the box. Brought my contacts in flawlessly. Plum-a-licious purple. Camera amazingly good, even in odd lighting (and I use a 10mp for work). Airplane mode (disable network). Up to 4gig memory card!
  • Cons: Not enough preloaded ringtones.

Pretty but NOT compatible with iSync

John F., Newegg
4 September 2009
  • Summary: I bought this phone to replace my PEBL. I was willing to live without the PEBL's spring-loaded hinge. I would have preferred an FM radio. And I sould tolerate the mechanical-sounding voice prompts (PEBL has a human voice).
  • Pros: Beautiful phone, nice screen, stereo bluetooth, quad-band, smaller than PEBL.
  • Cons: NOT compatible with Apple iSync! No FM radio. No PEBL-style one-handed opening mechanism. Robotic voice-dialing prompt.
