The Motorola SLVR L7 is another model featuring the marriage between Motorola and Apple’s iTunes technology. Its main selling point is the multimedia side which consists of a VGA low-resolution camera which can shoot pictures and capture videos as well. Although this is not the most versatile camera seen on a phone, it still works pretty well. Then you’ll find the iTunes player which helps you organize and listen to all your music from one location. It also provides you with a bunch of options like equalizer, shuffle, loop etc. There are also a few bonus corporate features like a limited email client for POP3 clients, text and multimedia messaging, a few organizers and Bluetooth.

Although the SLVR L7 is a good combination of multimedia features, the phone certainly isn’t the best replacement for your iPod. If you’re a serious music lover, you’ll almost certainly need to store a lot of music on your major music device. Unfortunately, the L7 can only store a stingy 100 songs using the bundled 512 MB memory card. Music quality isn’t par with a real iPod either. The included earphones are strong and loud but the speakers are just not good enough as they’re too soft and background noise is too noticeable. The camera, however, is a very good performer for a VGA add-on and call quality is also very pleasing. Overall, the SLVR L7 isn’t very different from the rest of the SLVR series and if you want a cheap music phone with a decent set of features, give this one a look.
