Summary: bought this to replace the quantico I've carried in my pocket every day for the past few years. my phones lead a VERY hard life and the quantico is the only one that has lasted more than a year. even compared to other military phones, this one is the best there is. call reception is excellent, battery life great, features are adequate (it isn't a smartphone, just the basics) and durability is off the charts.
Excerpt: You can drop it and kick it when you get upset because the features, such as Bluetooth, the camera and wireless emergency alerts, either don't work or when they do, they cause this device to have trouble. Calls are loud but not clear, Bluetooth also fails to recognize most non-Motorola devices (with a few exceptions from Plantronics, Panasonic and Sony), the camera can't even take a good photo, the phone is SLOW, and the phone really does need to go to the gym...
Summary: I purchased this phone because it has much better reception in my home, especially in my basement office. Our cell reception is poor here because we are in a low valley, even though near towers. My last 3 cell phones have had the same problem. While it is out of production it works better than newer cell phones. I actually have two similar phones for business and personal. It is easier to hold and open instead of small polished phones.
Summary: So far I am pleased with it. A better phone than the Razar I replaced it with. The battery stays charged longer. Too bad U S Cellular no longer carry them. I do not need a smart phone as this does everything I need it to do. Not a perfect phone but one I would buy again.
Summary: After my 2-year-old son dropped two of my previous cell phones in my morning coffee, I realized I needed something more durable than a simple "penny-phone." I read some reviews and decided, "what better than a military-grade, waterproof phone?" I have only had the phone for a few days, but my husband has the same phones in their squad cars at the police department. Now I can drink my coffee without the fear of losing a phone in the process!
