ZN5 Motorola Motozine - Mixed Bag of Great and So-so
19 August 2010
Summary: The Motozine ZN5 phone for T-Mobile is an interesting mix of high end features and things that do not live up to expectations. The high point of this phone is the 5 mega pixel Kodak camera with xenon flash. The combination of hardware and software allows this phone to take really amazing photos. Leave the point and shoot at home if you have enough storage on your microSDHC card to handle the load. The software, Kodak Perfect Touch, takes a decent shot and improves.
Excerpt: We purchased 4 of these phones with a new T-Mobile contract in spring 2009. We had admired the phones, but took the plunge when they had a one-day only online special to get the phones FREE with a 1-year contract. The pictures on these phones are AWESOME! However, that was the *only* good thing 4 different users liked about the phones. I would never recommend this phone to anyone for any reason. One phone was water damaged, so we have to take that into account.
Pros: Excellent photo quality
Cons: Camera stops working, battery issues, much lag for texting and internet. (see full review)
Excerpt: Basically, the only reason I bought the phone in the first place was because of the 5 megapixel camera, and it ended up being the only thing I liked about the whole phone. I had a lot of problems with it lagging and it would also turn on and off by itself and do other annoying things like open the camera screen without me touching the button or opening the lens. And the end call button stopped working after a few months use.
Pros: large display screen, good camera, came with pretty themes and backgrounds, holds music
Cons: HUGE pictures, screen lagged, unorganized organizer, too large to carry in pocket, powering on and off randomly
Excerpt: Pros: * Awesome camera, great picture quality... although limited camera features, specifically zoom, but this is a phone not a camera... * Nice clear big screen. * Size. Although the phone is slightly tall, in comparison to others, it is slender and fits in the pocket well. * Wi-Fi * Removable media-card, so far known support up to 8GB. * Decent battery life.
Excerpt: Okay I have had this phone for about 2 months now. It is a pretty decent phone if you are looking for a camera phone. It has a few times just froze on me. Or sometimes it will just reset itself if I have to turn it off due to it freezing on me. It has a pretty good music player i love the fact that I can use the connector and plug it into my tv and listen to my music and watch videos through the tv..
Excerpt: Its a nice phone and takes excellent pictures. I Had this phone for two weeks and returned it because it keeps turning off and coming back on by its self. I had a full charge on the phone and got an inportant phone call. When I picked the phone up, it turned off and came back on. I lost my call and I didn't know who called me but luckly he called me back. This can't happen in my line of business so I had to let it go. Trash it!
Pros: Excellent pictures, Nice Design and Features, Love the radio and music player
Summary: I love taking pictures, listening to music and having a phone. Not fun carrying all those around when you can have it all in one. I like phones with bells and whistles. PROS * Great camera, takes great pictures so much better than my regular digital camera. There isn't a delay like most digital cameras with this phone, so you can snap away especially if you taking pictures of animals or kids. They tend to move a lot.
Excerpt: This phone has an incredible camera and a great list of features; this was of limited use for me since the sound quality of phone calls was poor. Volume wasn't a concern, but incoming voices sounded muffled and were difficult to understand. The phone's menu system is also very nonsensical and abstract; there is no "ringer" section, for example, you must change the ringer for each theme you choose.
