Summary: The Motorola ZN5 is the best camera phone we've seen so far. But it doesn't stop there, as it's a good phone, too.
Pros: The Motorola ZN5 offers a fantastic camera with a wide range of options and excellent photo quality. The plentiful feature set includes stereo Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, the design is sleek and sturdy, and call quality is more than respectable.
Cons: The Motorola ZN5's memory card is located behind the battery cover. The menus can be pokey at times and the camera interface could use a refinement. Also, the ZN5 lacks video editing features and the photo uploading process had a couple of hiccups.
Conclusion: In sunny conditions, the first Motorola/Kodak camera phone holds its own against dedicated digital still cameras. It makes clear calls, too, so it's a solid choice for avid shutterbugs with T-Mobile service.
Pros: 5-megapixel camera. Excellent call quality. Full Web browser. Wi-Fi.
Cons: No 3G or Wi-Fi calling. Low-quality video recording mode. Photos are noisy in low light.
Excerpt: The ZN5 is the product of a joint effort from Motorola and Kodak to create a 5MP camera phone that aims to provide users with exceptional photos – or so they claim. Here’s what I have to say after testing the ZN5 and putting it though its paces. Form Factor This candybar handset is a little weighed down at the top end where the camera is located. The 2.4-inch TFT LCD has a standard 240 x 320 pixel resolution with 256K colors.
Conclusion: Ultimately, the ZN5 comes correct in terms of the top four cell phone extras – digital camera, Web surfing capability, email access and music playback – and delivers them coupled with an excellent phone. While it would help if there were some dedicated keys for accessing certain features and we did experience some minor hiccups with the device, well… To be frank, it’s hard to argue with the sheer level of functionality, especially photo-wise, the ZN5 offers here for just...
Pros: Outstanding 5MP camera; Wi-Fi enabled; speedy web surfing; good music player
Cons: Video recording hiccups; microSD card under battery cover; lacks dedicated music controls
Conclusion: Motorola enters the cameraphone market late, but better late than never and it did not disappoint us. The ZINE ZN5 has a modern design, it’s suitable for listening to music and has a very fast camera, which takes very good pictures if the sun is shining. Unfortunately, the story changes on cloudy days and indoors and the Xenon is only useful if taking a picture of an object at 7 feet at the most.
Pros: Elegant, modern and user-friendly, Very fast camera, Long battery life, Good sound quality
Cons: The back lid is very hard to open, No 3G, The camcorder shoots videos at very low resolution, No high-quality video playback, Poor image quality in low lighting conditions
Summary: T he Motorola ZN Motozine stands out from the crowd. Its 5.0 Megapixel digital camera with auto focus and Xenon flash lets you take excellent pictures without a problem. Thanks to the Kodak technology, faster capture of precious moments is made possible, and even in difficult circumstances a high quality picture is the result.
