Excerpt: MOTO Q fans accross the ocean had to wait forever for the release of Motorola's MOTO Q GSM version and finally, at the 3GSM World Congress, Motorola unveiled the long awaited MOTO Q q gsm. However, even if it comes with Microsoft's latest Windows Mobile 6 operating system, it is a kind of outdated. Yes, it's sporting a QVGA display, but unlike the MOTO q9, it features GSM, GPRS and EDGE only.
Summary: Still, the Q is somewhat outdated as a smartphone for heavy business users, at least when compared to offerings from HTC , Eten , and other cutting-edge handset makers. Trouble is, if you're a Sprint or Verizon customer in the US, your smartphone choices are limited; most of fancy powerhouse Windows Mobile devices in the world only work on GSM networks.
Summary: One area of disappoint was the speakerphone: Although you can hear the caller fine, the mic is not strong enough for the Q to be effectively used as a speakerphone unless you are very close to it and there is absolutely no background noise (kind of defeating the purpose of the feature). People complain of not being able to hear clearly. In case you can’t find it, the speakerphone key is the little “pacman” symbol in the lower right keypad.
Excerpt: We've been making heavy use of Motorola's EV-DO equipped Q smartphone for nearly two weeks now and really love it. It has the shape, weight, and feature set that are sure to turn a lot of heads and open a lot of wallets.
