With its shiny metallic-glass front thin design, the K1m flip-phone is a fashion statement. The phone also includes a 1.3-megapixel digital camera with video capture and playback, innovative touch sensor music, integrated GPS navigation, Bluetooth 2.0 technology, Over-the-Air Synchronization and expandable memory up to 1 GB through optional microSD cards. The open K1m feels very comfortable against the ear, and because it’s so narrow, it’s easy to hold. The K1m’s display is very bright and clear, and has a wide viewing angle. The comfortable keypad has a cool aqua-blue backlight. Multimedia is where the KRZR K1m falls apart. The reception and sound quality of the KRZR is good. Voices are clear and had no interference or static. However, if a user’s hand completely covers up the bottom of the phone that houses the internal antenna, there will be a drop in call quality. The earpiece speaker has eight levels of volume, with medium or medium-high sounding best. The speakerphone is clear and not distorted as long as the volume is not turned up to the highest setting. Users can also close the flip while using the speakerphone. The battery delivers 3 hours of talk time and 6 days of standby.
Not only is the 1.3-megapixel camera hardly cutting-edge, but it also lacks a flash. The phone also has decent MP3 capabilities. Users may buy and download songs directly from VCAST, or upload files from a PC via USB cable. However, users may not use iTunes files, but must upload songs from a Windows computer via Windows Media Player 10. VCAST’s video menu took a long time to load on the phone, the interface seemed sluggish, and videos were very choppy. Plus, while the V CAST Music store works smoothly, users have to open the phone and click at least three times before music starts playing. The external touch-sensitive buttons are pretty, but they can be both not sensitive enough. However, the speaker is loud and games played adequately well. The phone uses a USB jack for headsets, but comes with an adapter for standard 2.5-mm headsets. The new KRZR K1m is an improvement on the previous KRZR, but there are other slim phones available with better multimedia options.
See lessBeing a V3 RAZR user for over a year without any specific unenthusiastic comments, I must say that Motorola’s new KRZR is without doubts a major improvement in design. Its stylish and sleek look is guaranteed to make a lot of heads turn. If spending 400$ for the KRZR is a bit too much for you, I would without doubts recommend to take a look at the V3 RAZR; you get a very similar technical package to the KRZR for a significant lower price tag. If money is not an issue... Read more
With its glossy metallic-glass frontplate and its ultra-trim design, the KRZR K1m is arguably the shiniest, slimmest, swankiest mobile phone on the market. Users on the lookout for revolutionary style and compactness should be very happy with the KRZR. The KRZR K1m combines its glossy, skinny self with standard high-end features to create a tantalizing new cell phone package. Read more
Motorola has launched a new leader. The popular RAZR is being substituted by the new KRZR, whose glossy materials look luxurious. On the other hand, the innovations made since the forerunner are very few. Is this wrong? Not at all, provided all you need is a new pretty toy. Read more
If you can look beyond the rather unremarkable features, the KRZR K1 is a worthy successor to the iconic RAZR and, like its predecessor, simply spells gorgeous. Read more
Motorola's RAZR started the thin clamshell craze in the market, but now Motorola intends for its more compact, though thicker, MOTOKRZR K1 to take over the reigns as the premier fashion phone. Read more
I purchased a Motorola KRZR K1 from T-Mobile for around two hundred dollars; if I include rebates, which I will, it will cost probably fifty dollars if placed under a year’s contract with said service provider. But if you do not fancy T-Mobile, you may opt to buy this particular product with the other leading telecommunications companies. Right now, I live in a capital city, accordingly quadband GSM is really an advantage if you want call quality. To give you a... Read more
- It more or less works like it's supposed to. - I like the sturdy build quality...doesn't have that cheap plastic-y feel - I find that I need to recharge every 48 hrs regardless of how long a talk (which isn't much). - I wish it had a more standard audio jack...the dongle/adapter adds bulk and i found that the lowest volume is too loud, so I have to use ear phones with a built in volume control...thus the one star deduction. At least the mp3 feature exists :) It's still... Read more
This phone was great when I first got it. My son and I have the same phone different colors. It is very elegant looking. He started having problems right away, they gave him a new phone. Now we both have problems, mostly battery problems. We have both replaced the batteries in this phone twice in one year. From what I understand Verizon is no longer carrying this phone due to the amount of problems they have had. A charge lasts about 12 hours when it used to last a week.... Read more
