With its shiny metallic-glass front thin design, the K1m flip-phone is a fashion statement. The phone also includes a 1.3-megapixel digital camera with video capture and playback, innovative touch sensor music, integrated GPS navigation, Bluetooth 2.0 technology, Over-the-Air Synchronization and expandable memory up to 1 GB through optional microSD cards. The open K1m feels very comfortable against the ear, and because it’s so narrow, it’s easy to hold. The K1m’s display is very bright and clear, and has a wide viewing angle. The comfortable keypad has a cool aqua-blue backlight. Multimedia is where the KRZR K1m falls apart. The reception and sound quality of the KRZR is good. Voices are clear and had no interference or static. However, if a user’s hand completely covers up the bottom of the phone that houses the internal antenna, there will be a drop in call quality. The earpiece speaker has eight levels of volume, with medium or medium-high sounding best. The speakerphone is clear and not distorted as long as the volume is not turned up to the highest setting. Users can also close the flip while using the speakerphone. The battery delivers 3 hours of talk time and 6 days of standby.
Not only is the 1.3-megapixel camera hardly cutting-edge, but it also lacks a flash. The phone also has decent MP3 capabilities. Users may buy and download songs directly from VCAST, or upload files from a PC via USB cable. However, users may not use iTunes files, but must upload songs from a Windows computer via Windows Media Player 10. VCAST’s video menu took a long time to load on the phone, the interface seemed sluggish, and videos were very choppy. Plus, while the V CAST Music store works smoothly, users have to open the phone and click at least three times before music starts playing. The external touch-sensitive buttons are pretty, but they can be both not sensitive enough. However, the speaker is loud and games played adequately well. The phone uses a USB jack for headsets, but comes with an adapter for standard 2.5-mm headsets. The new KRZR K1m is an improvement on the previous KRZR, but there are other slim phones available with better multimedia options.
See lessOverall, Motorola's KRZR K1 is actually a pretty nice slim phone, but is not highly recommended, especially since most of its disadvantages overweigh its benefits. The Motorola KRZR K1 is more about the looks, so if you are looking for a phone that is slick-looking but does not have every bell and whistle that phones of this price range should have, then Moto's KRZR K1 is for you. With its glossy metallic-glass frontplate and its ultra-trim design, the KRZR K1m is arguably the shiniest, slimmest, swankiest mobile phone on the market. Users on the lookout for revolutionary style and compactness should be very happy with the KRZR. The KRZR K1m combines its glossy, skinny self with standard high-end features to create a tantalizing new cell phone package. Read more
Motorola has launched a new leader. The popular RAZR is being substituted by the new KRZR, whose glossy materials look luxurious. On the other hand, the innovations made since the forerunner are very few. Is this wrong? Not at all, provided all you need is a new pretty toy. Read more
The model delivers good receiving quality, typical for all modern devices. Ring tones’ volume is slightly above average, midi-tunes are played back via 64-chord polyphony module, which ensures fairly great sounding. The silent alert is nothing special on the KRZR – it’s somewhere between “average” and “slightly above average” strength-wise. The loudspeaker outputs enough volume during conversations for nearly all environments. It is one the first... Read more
Motorola's RAZR started the thin clamshell craze in the market, but now Motorola intends for its more compact, though thicker, MOTOKRZR K1 to take over the reigns as the premier fashion phone. Read more
This phone was not what I expected. I wanted a red phone and when it arrived, the bottom and back cover were red but the front is a mirror. What happens when you drop a mirror? It shatters! I liked the phone otherwise. I only had it 10 days before it shattered. Take my advice, you eventually will be sorry. Motorola screwed up by putting a mirror on the front of this phone. Read more

I've had my Krzr for three months now and I am very pleased with it. I have not used the mp3 player capabilities, so unfortunately I cannot review those. As a phone, it has performed quite well. I live in an area that can have spotty reception ... Read more
