Excerpt: i found many undesireable flaws in the design and function of this phone. number 1 complaint: shape and size ; slips out of hand easily to easy to loose and in pocket you must lock the keypad or unwanted button action will occur. i was dissapointed in the lack of tools such as a alarm clock or calculator. software was ok and java apps selection good. i liked the loopt app allowing u and ur friends to see each others location via the phones gps capabilities.

Excerpt: I would not recommend this phone to anyone, unless you like having all phone conversations shared with the world. I bought one of these i290 phones for Boost Mobile from Wal-Mart. The handset had worked fine for that one phone call.
Excerpt: this motorola i290 boost phone was an okay phone i think it was like one of the first upgradeds from the original boost phone. it was one of the first phones that ever came out.. it is a flat phone without a full keyboard... it is just a basic phone for people who don't really care for all the extra features that boost offers...
Excerpt: I recently acquired the Motorola i290. When I investigated Boostmobile cell phone service, the deciding factor of whether or not to use them was the fact they used Motorola telephones. I was always led to believe Motorola was a leader in cellular phone service. I paid over eighty dollars for the phone and being as cheap as I am, that was the most I have ever paid for a phone. It's a Motorola though! I later find the phone to be primitive.
My Motorola i290 is a great phone, especially for this price...

I am usually partial to flip phones, but I think this phone looks pretty cool. It's thin and sleek, although it sticks out of my pocketbook-purse.
