Great Android Phone
9 May 2013
Summary: Best DROID I've had to date. Battery has to be charged every couple of days with medium use....way better then my S2. Nice camera and video. Big screen, but not too big. Makes it easy to read screen.
Summary: If you google "I hate my Razr Maxx" you'll get an earfull about how badly JB 4.1.2 screwed these phones up, about screens that crack for no apparent reason, on and on. I wish I had read user reports before relying on CNET reports.
Pros: You can make telephone calls on it. Other than that, it's rather useless.
Cons: The operating system, Jelly Bean 4.1.2 is terrible! It came out on March 23, 2013. Read comments entered only after that date to get the real story.
Excerpt: I got this phone in Mexico a month ago and I'm very satisfied. It's not as expensive as I thought and it combines the best of every smartphone: long battery life, big screen, great camera, microSD capable, etc. Totally worth it.
Pros: Awesome battery life, microSD slot, Splash resistant and very durable, HDMI output, Very good reception
Cons: Haven't received Jelly bean update, Not the best screen resolution, The keyboard is not as responsive as I wish. It freezes sometimes
Excerpt: I didn't have this phone long, maybe 4 months, before it started over heating and dying constantly... I thought it was supposed to have that extended life battery... when you spend this much on a phone you expect it to work longer. Plus I hate how when Verizon sends you a lemon, they replace it with a "refurbished" lemon. NOT IMPRESSED!
Summary: Upgraded from my Droid Bionic, which I loved. Was really happy about the battery life without the weight of the extended battery I had on my Bionic. Started about a week after getting the phone, I would plug the phone into the Motorola dock with the cradle and would get a message the Unfortunately, the dock was not available. Checked online and found that it was a problem with Google Play. Went to tier 3 with Motorola and they had no idea what the problem was.
Pros: Battery life is great. I charge at night and use the phone all day and have never gotten below 50%.
Cons: Bedside Docking doesn't work with Google Play. Have to turn phone off to get the alarm to go off. Every call starts with speaker phone on. Screen randomly spins. Motorola support is worthless, when you can understand them.
Get an iphone, boycott droids! They are getting worse!
1 December 2012
Summary: Worst phone I've ever owned. I've stuck with motorola for YEARS but now I'm done. I'm getting an iphone next time. This phone is worse than the last droid I had, the Droid 2. They did away with the slide out keyboard! I can deal with it, fine, but the swype is crappy, HORRIBLE at predicting words. I have to add almost every other word to its dictionary because it doesn't know any words! What a joke!
Pros: Comfortable, rugged, battery life starts off good, lasted me 2-3 days initially. Now, It's about dead at the end of the day for medium use such as calls and checking email. Forget about using gps for more than 40-50 minutes, it'll die rather quickly.
Cons: SLOW, VERY SLOW, LAGS BIG TIME, CAMERA has annoying fixed zoom., Gets horrible reception, the background screen design is crap, you have to tailor a picture to get it to fit or else it looks like crap., Battery doesn't last long after a few weeks.
BEST SMARTPHONE EVER OUT OF 6 SMARTPHONES I'VE OWNED
26 November 2012
Summary: I have owned and used 6 smartphones including this one , and the Razr Maxx is by far the best smartphone I've used. My other phones I've used include iPhone 4, Droid Incredible, HTC EVO, LG OPTIMUS ELITE, and Droid Razr.
Pros: NOW HAS ANDROID 4.0.4 ICE CREAM SANDWICH, EXCELLENT BATTERY, BEAUTIFUL DISPLAY AND SCREEN SIZE, ZIPPY PROCESSOR, nice, solid feel, great call quality and speakerphone
Excerpt: I switched to the RAZR MAXX from my DROID 4 because the battery life was too short and the screen was too small. I'm a heavy user and I get about twice the battery life on the MAXX. So if you're the kind of person that hates running out of battery this is this phone for you.
