Impressed with the Droid Mini

mdpetrick, Phone Arena

  • Excerpt: Perhaps the Mini can't be classified as a great phone, but it's certainly a perfectly good phone. Call quality is far superior to my very old & tired Droid 4 - which lasted me nearly 5 years.
  • Pros: Responsive, Great call quality, 2048 MB RAM
  • Cons: No micro sd slot, Camera settings limited

Great phone!

  • Excerpt: This phone has been pretty rock solid. The only issue I have is that whenever I try to initiate a phone call while using bluetooth in the car, the person on the other end can't hear me. This hasn't been resolved yet although I haven't tried wiping my phone. Still love it though!

POS! It does so much, and very poorly.

  • Summary: I need a smaller phone. Larger phones get in my way. Verizon told me this was their only choice in this size. It is too slippery to hold, and with the cover, it is too hard to extract from the belt holster. Half the time I can not retrieve the phone before it goes to voicemail.
  • Pros: Nothing.
  • Cons: Poor touch response. Slow charging. Inconsistent operation. Mediocre sound.

Battery life sucks.

SDTennis, CNET
13 November 2014
  • Summary: I previously owned an HTC Incredible 2 and was able to run my walking app for a 10-mile hike with plenty of battery life remaining. With the Mini, the phone is HOT before I reach 8 miles and battery usage is in the red (10% remaining). Actually, the phone is often very HOT to the touch.
  • Pros: Easy to use.
  • Cons: Battery rarely lasts a day.

Motorola Droid Mini - loving it

turtlebiker, Phone Arena

  • Excerpt: This is an on-contract replacement for Motorola Droid Razr. I have had good experiences with Motorola phones, so I stuck with them. I see the trend to larger and larger devices and didn't really see the point. I want a phone for calls, text, email, and quick scan of anything else.
  • Pros: Small form factor fits easily in my hand., Screen is clear and easy to see in almost every lighting condition, No noticealbe performance degradation after 1 year without reset.
  • Cons: No add-on storage, but I knew that when I bought it.

So far, nearly perfect

narn3049, CNET
5 January 2014
  • Summary: I got this as a replacement for my 5C which fell into water-- instead of paying for a replacement, I sold my 5C BROKEN and took my fathers upgrade. Having used iPhones as my last 2 devices, I was ready for a change, and that of course, was a RED Motorola DROID MINI.
  • Pros: Great screen, fast speed for video loading and gaming, 16GB is internal, screen is an AMOLED but better than a lot of other Amoleds
  • Cons: The phone has shut off a handful of times, I don't like the SIM card underneath the volume keys, and the 16GB (more than enough for me, but not others sometimes) is internal and no room for SD.

I <3 this phone. Perfect size. Very fast.

  • Summary: Google made a good call buying Motorola. They did a good job with the Mini, I'm very impressed. I'll be buying another in a couple years.
  • Pros: No lag ever. Beautiful screen. Touch-less controls/Active Notifications are great. The speaker is loud, music sounds superb with headphones! Kevlar,Gorilla glass, water resistant nano-coating. Just the right size, not to big but definitely not "mini".
  • Cons: Only 16g. No sd card. The body is a glossy finger print magnet. But not really an issue for me. Who doesn't buy a case to prevent damage ect.? I bought the Incipio NGP case, super slim, good protection on all edges, silky, no fingerprint feel.
