  • Excerpt: I have had this phone for two years, and had the droid 2 before that. I love the full querty sliding keyboard, but the feature tends to break on me (the last phone broke because the sliding keyboard wore out, and so did this one, though it was replaced under warantee for a refurbished model)....

  • Excerpt: I had it for a little over a year of my 2 year Verizon contract. It was trouble free until the charger port broke on a family trip to Europe. Luckily, I had insurance on it which meant that a replacement phone (Droid Razr) was waiting for me when we got back.

This product has been a reliable phone for what I use it for.

  • Summary: Overall a great phone. It lacks the speed of the Samsung devices, however for the price it is a steal. The keyboard is unique nowadays and if you like a keyboard this is your smartphone. I bought this product to replace my existing Moto Droid 4 because it was ran through the washer by my fiancé. The phone still worked even after that, however the touchscreen is no longer functioning, making every task on the phone annoying. Likes- Keyboard, size, features.

Good phone, bad speaker

jeepscrambler, Ebay
2 April 2014
  • Summary: The phone is overall great. The keypad is awesome and the slider mechanism seems to hold up really well. The phone speaker really sucks though. Basically with the ear speaker at full volume, you can barely hear anyone on the other end. I use hands free or ear buds to make calls.

Key feature: full physical keyboard, Android OS, perfect size and weight

  • Summary: The Droid 4 can be summarized to one feature: a full, physical key board. Sure like anyone else I will use the Swipe or regular keys on the screen for 95% of the times. But I sometimes need to write something more eloquent and detailed and for that a real key board is a must. On the Verizon site you have four key board options, this one is the best. The Droid OS is fun and useful, the 5 panes screen plus a "back ground" screen that easily goes up and down is fun as well.

Great reception is what this device offers.

  • Summary: For me - the best thing about this device is its reception in our rural area. I felt the features were pretty standard, battery life average and response just OK. The phone is bulky and heavy. If you're absolutely needing a "real" keyboard this phone is probably a good choice....especially if you like heavy and bulky. Size actually encouraged me to resell the phone - but boy, that reception....can't beat it with a stick.

Great value for the money!

  • Summary: I bought the Droid 4 because it was time to upgrade. I decided to stick with the Droid because I was impressed with the operating system and the ease of use. I upgraded from the Original Droid to Droid 4 mainly because it had a QWERTY keyboard. Droid 4G is lighting fast, light and slim. I've owned the phone for almost a month. My only issue to this point is that sometimes it's hard to hear the person on the other end when I'm outdoors. Indoors it's fantastic.

Great phone overall but big email bug

BillSamuel, CNET
24 February 2013
  • Summary: Generally this has been reviewed as the best smart phone with a physical keyboard. It has a major defect in processing emails, but in pretty much all other respects is great.
  • Pros: Great keyboard, Very fast, 4-G
  • Cons: Emails do not clear out when you have downloaded them and they are no longer on the server. Since there is no batch delete capability, you have to delete each and every email by bringing it up and hitting the delete button. Poor design.
