Summary: I loved these radios, Great features and not bad on price from a company that is world wide known for its radios. Loved having the ability to reach such a long rage (5 miles advertised) - and i might add that unlike most product I believe I surpassed that number (7miles or so) - You'll have to pay...
Summary: We bought our first set 5 years ago. When we went to Yosemite, our two boys (16&12) went off rock scrambling. With radio we were comfortable with them being out of site. We/they checked in regularly and we were very pleased that line of sight and geography did not impede the radios operations.

Cons: some models hard to remove back cover when batteries need replacement

Summary: I highly recommend the Vonage VOIP phone system (www.vonage.com). In order to get around having to have your phone directly attached to the Motorola unit please visit this website that clearly outlines how to use the unit to power up the other phone connections in your home.
Pros: Had to find a workaround to use my home phone wiring vs. attatching a phone to the unit.
Cons: Had to find a workaround to use my home phone wiring vs. attatching a phone to the unit.
