Summary: Not sure if it was the phone I received or the device overall but the ringer and/or vibrate mode for incoming calls never worked. When I took the battery out to get the model number the phone service disconnected from Verizon and I couldn't turn the phone back on... Did eventually turn on after fully charged for the second time but had already had Verizon enable my old phone since this one was a risk.
I have owned this phone for about 3 months and love it!

Excerpt: This phone is wonderful. I have been using it for a few months now and just love it. It is so easy for texting compared to some of the older phones I have used. Very good sound qaulity as well. I have even dropped the phone a few times and it still works like a charm.
Excerpt: i have had my at&t LG cellphone for 1 year. I am very satisfied with the service, the price and the salesman at my local at&t store. also i have the insurance and have not had to use it yet, but they say they are very easy to deal with. I actually use the camera many times over and over again.
Excerpt: I ended up with the LG Venus phone after my phone broke. My step-sister gave it to me. And it worked, for a while. The phone was previously used, so I guess it didn’t owe me anything. The phone is a slider, so it started to break after some use. I’ve never been a fan of phones that slide, nor have I ever really used them either. So, maybe I was a tad too aggressive with it. The touch screen is either way too sensitive or not sensitive at all.
Excerpt: I love my LG Venus. It did have a glitch where I could receive text messages but couldn't send them. Verizon replaced the phone without any hesitation. I get tons of compliments on this phone and the color (mine is pink). It takes great picture, the only down fall of that is there is no flash on it, which does come in handy when you have it.
Excerpt: I got the LG Venus about 2 weeks ago and have decided to return it. It is a gorgeous phone and I love that I can do just about everything on it without even opening the phone, including read texts, make calls and adjust phone settings. But the touchscreen navigation is just WAY too slow. Trying to scroll through a menu or within a text message takes forever. There are also many times when I hit a key and it lights up and/or vibrates but doesn't do the action.
Excerpt: I have to say I really love this phone. After my last few Motorola phones, I've been very dissappointed. So the LG Venus is a breath of fresh air. It's sleek and stylish, yet small in size. I absolutly love the touch screen. When touching the screen, a vibration is given to let you know you pressed the button. I love this feature. It's got a great 2 megapixel camera. And the flash animated wallpapers are lots of fun. I'm SOOO happy with this phone!
Excerpt: The LG VX8800 (aka venus) is just a simple yet fancy phone for the average user. It fulfills your basic needs for making calls, texting your friends, or taking pictures. It has mobile web, and vcast(ability to download music/ringtones/wall paper/etc...) but all that can get pretty pricey. This phone is a slider. When the phone is "closed" you have a top screen and bottom screen. The bottom screen is touch sensitive.
