Excerpt: I only gave this phone a 2.5 rating because of the features. Other than that, I have had the battery replaced 3x. Whenever I charge it completety, turn it off maybe one hour, then turn it back on, it's dead. I'm going to see if I can get the phone replaced before I totally give up on it. It's been doing this for 10 months.
Excerpt: The picture and video features were easy to use, picture quality was great! I had the venus for a year, and in that time being I went through three different phones.. My problem with the venus was that after a few months with each brand new phone it would break in half. There have been many reported cases of this happening, this however is with any slider phone. After my 3rd phone I was finished, right now I am a proud owner of the EnV3.
Excerpt: **I KNOW PEOPLE DON'T LIKE READING LONG REVIEWS, BUT IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BUYING THIS PHONE PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS.** Ok. I got this phone, thinking "oh, cool, I've got a touch screen phone, it works, and it looks pretty darn cool." First, let me say, the claim that this phone is a "touch screen" is a joke. Only the bottom half is a touch screen, no different than actual buttons on a regular phone.
Pros: *Looks very cool - externally and in menus and that sort of thing., *Texting is surprisingly easily on the numerical keypad., *Touch screen reacts when buttons are tapped, making it easier to make the right selection., *More customizable than many phones., *Customizable shortcuts a plus.
Cons: *Camera was disappointing, with awful controls and terrible picture quality., *Quality: poorly built, fell apart in less than a year of ownership., *Touch screen not reliable, with delays., *Bad selection of ringtones, I found them all obnoxious and no good texting rings., *Very easy to press any of the buttons surrounding the "menu" button instead of the "menu" button itself., *Takes a long time to scroll through menus due to touch screen delay., *Too expensive for t...
Excerpt: ok well the phone is really kool...it looked grreat when i first got it until it got all scratched up...the touch screen is nice...umm the camera is really really clear and stuff...back to the problems...the sides of the phone (where the silver is) scraped off like it was glue on your hand...horrible and the video part isnt really clear like the pics are...kinda weird huh...but the pink color is the best color ever!!!..
Excerpt: I got this phone for Christmas of 2007, and let's just say I'm already on my third of the same phone. When I first got the Venus, I was thrilled with some of the great and easy to use features it had, but as the weeks went on the phone began to annoy me. The touch screen does not respond quickly enough, and when you need or want to get to a picture, text, etc. fast, you can't.
Excerpt: Well, I got this phone in February 2008 for my 13th birthday, and I was in love with it when i got it. The only problem about the Venus is that the touchscreen is un-responsive at points, but other times it works great. It's amazing for texting, and the pictures aren't that bad either! It's very easy to get to your contacts, and any other tools you want to use. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T DROP IT! I have a couple times, and it got so scratched on the sides.
Excerpt: I first got this phone about 4 months ago and i loved it..... until..........................it started to freeze every time i texted and the ONLY way to get it to unfreeze was to take the battery out.. so i went and got it traded out for another one and they told me that all the defects in it should be fixed until jus now when it started doing it again. I wish it was more reliable and i no longer want to waste my time on this phone.
Excerpt: Not a bad phone but has some software issues.one is when you take a pic on highest res and try to save to phone it reboots or you get a garbled picture. battery life average,if your a text junkie forget it keys to small bluetooth always static unless the phone is by your side. maybe once allthe bugs have been worked out ill try again, returned it for the env very nice phone its a little older but i think it functions better.also the venus has no battery low warning i was...
Excerpt: I found this phone beautiful but a real pain to use. After three weeks of accidentally canceling calls while trying to find the right buttons to press, I gave up and went back to my LG VX 4650 - until Verizon comes out with a phone that has the aesthetics of this phone's display but is convenient to use. I replaced it once because the signal strength indicator didn't work on the first one; on the second, the voice dialing speech recognition was not working well at all.
Excerpt: The venus is a very cool phone. it freezes sometimes. like when i go to send texts. the camera is okay. uhh everyone i think you should get one. but they arent my favorite phone. but way cool. its weird with the touch screen. its way hard. i dont really like it. but the phone is cool.
