Summary: The basic phones are no longer available through Virgin Mobile, for the plan I have with Virgin Mobile. And they can't be found in any of the 'big box stores'. This is one I've used for years. This is my 3rd LG rumor 2. They last a little over 2 years. Easy to use. Battery life is great. Slide out Qwerty keyboard. Camera is ok in a pinch. Brand new in box.
Summary: The cell phone was an exact replacement for a phone stolen from me. However, I was disappointed with Virgin Mobile for not helping the situation. The thief changed my payment plan from the cell phone. After I realized it was stolen, I reported it to Virgin Mobile. After obtaining the new phone, Virgin Mobile would not change my plan back to what it was before the phone was stolen. I'm now paying twice as much per minute.
Summary: I came across this phone while looking for something reasonably priced for my teenage daughter's first cell phone. Not only was the phone inexpensive, but the Virgin Mobile plan was considerably cheaper than the phone service I had with Verizon. The phone works great for talking and texting, which is what I wanted for my daughter. (It does NOT work well for Internet access and picture taking.
Summary: I am coming from using a Droid RAZR on Verizon, so my expectations were low, however I was honestly surprised how easy it was to go back to using a basic phone. I don't miss the smartphone at all. This phone has a nice loud speaker, a micorSD slot, and works fairly smooth. Internet is basic, but works well, and Virgin plans are pretty good. All in all I am happy with the product, and find it is really enjoyable to have a nice small phone with a physical keyboard again.
Excerpt: I have owned two LG phones. Both of them are good phones. My first one was the 6100 and when it started to have a weakened battery they (Verizon) talked me into upgrading and going to the LG VX8300. They used the same charger both home and vehicle and that saved me having to buy the whole package the second time around.
Excerpt: Th LG Rumor does not have a full web browser (which my next phone will) but it definately does let me do what I do most. I love to text message and with the full slide out keyboard this is a snap. I also use my phone to check my yahoo email and reply. It is nice to be able to reply to important emails while on the go. The camera quality is only so-so, some of my pictures come out really fuzzy and my old phone actually took much better pictures.
