Summary: The basic phones are no longer available through Virgin Mobile, for the plan I have with Virgin Mobile. And they can't be found in any of the 'big box stores'. This is one I've used for years. This is my 3rd LG rumor 2. They last a little over 2 years. Easy to use. Battery life is great. Slide out Qwerty keyboard. Camera is ok in a pinch. Brand new in box.
Summary: The cell phone was an exact replacement for a phone stolen from me. However, I was disappointed with Virgin Mobile for not helping the situation. The thief changed my payment plan from the cell phone. After I realized it was stolen, I reported it to Virgin Mobile. After obtaining the new phone, Virgin Mobile would not change my plan back to what it was before the phone was stolen. I'm now paying twice as much per minute.
Summary: I am coming from using a Droid RAZR on Verizon, so my expectations were low, however I was honestly surprised how easy it was to go back to using a basic phone. I don't miss the smartphone at all. This phone has a nice loud speaker, a micorSD slot, and works fairly smooth. Internet is basic, but works well, and Virgin plans are pretty good. All in all I am happy with the product, and find it is really enjoyable to have a nice small phone with a physical keyboard again.
Excerpt: I have had this phone for a little over a year and it still works very good! I am a huge clutz and this phone is very durable, i have droped it scraped it on the ground and banged it off of things. The keyboard is great, the buttons are not to flat yet the don't stick up too much. The camera is decent and can take good piccs as long as you are in good light. I do not use the internet very often but when I do it works good. This phone can hold alot of photos!
Summary: Summary (or TL/DR version): The phone meets my expectations, and I can live with the few problems at this price of phone and service. Most of the software limitations were easy to fix without much technical know-how. There are a few hardware limitations, but only one (not missed call light) is something I really care about. Your experience might be different based on your requirements. My needs are that of a student who also works part-time in an academic environment.
Summary: First off, this is a great phone for the money. I plan on rooting it at some point because the processor is a little slow and I'd like to overclock it. For anyone who isn't a power-user, this phone will work great. I've had this phone for about two months, and the following things are what I like and dislike most about the phone: Keyboard, Swype, and Voice input: I've used iOs and I think that the combination of Swype and voice input make Android a far superior choice...
Summary: This is probably my favorite phone that I've ever had. For me personally this phones only issue is memory and obviously that can be fixed with San Disk. Update sometimes the 3G web speed goes out on my phone.this can be fixed with turning phone off. Then turning back on and airplane mode for a minute or 2. Also keep web history and cache emptied regularly.
