Summary: I think we’ve established by now that the LG Sol E730 isn’t that great a phone, as it seems on paper and it’s a crying shame really, as I was really hoping that it would be good. Well, at least it’s cheap, right? Not exactly. The Optimus Sol E730 is priced at Rs.18,050, which is exactly the same as the Sony Ericsson Neo V , which as we’ve established already, is a much better handset.
Summary: The Optimus Sol is both smart and slim with a powerful combination of style and performance for a fashionable smartphone experience. Brilliantly bright with a 3.8" Ultra AMOLED Display, it delivers two times the clarity in heavy sunlight outdoors. The cutting edge super slim fit 9.8mm design with charismatic curve is definitely one such phone where smart meet style.
Summary: For Rs. 19,000, the Optimus Sol offers a stable Android experience that doesn't get bogged down over time like some phones tend to. The bright display is carried forward from the other Optimus siblings. The glossy back is a scratch magnet though, thanks to the glossy black finish.
Pros: Very bright Ultra AMOLED display, Good performance, Built well
Conclusion: Without any doubt, the LG Optimus Sol will have a hard time battling in the Android arena as there are plenty of similarly priced devices that do not skimp on features. Still, we have to admit that its Ultra AMOLED display is pleasing to the eye thanks to the saturated colors and deep blacks that it delivers. Besides, we are quite pleased with the way its slim, lightweight body feels in the hand, and with the above average in-call audio quality.
Pros: Eye-catching display, Good in-call sound quality, Slim and lightweight
LG Optimus Sol – the poor man’s Optimus 2X has some nice specs – user review
6 September 2011
Conclusion: As a lower-end phone, the Optimus Sol will probably cost around $100 with a contract and $300 without – I expect the price to be slightly lower than these numbers, and if it is so, the device will make a great purchase and alternative to the more expensive G2X and other higher end smartphones.
