Summary: "This phone is okay but the things that annoy me most are the fact the screen quite often doesn't respond to touch, so to open a message you might have to tap it five times. Browsing the internet is utterly painful and slow. Also, some web sites just won't load at all. The camera is really basic and the fact the touch screen locks when when you're on a call makes it a painful process of unlocking the phone and bringing up the number screen each time you have to respond...
Poor running memory - would not recommend this phone
19 February 2015
Excerpt: I got this phone in 2012 when my phone contract was up for renewal. I liked the look of the phone and I chose this one over others because it was cheap and meant that I could get a cash back deal through phones 4 u my mobile phone contract provider. At the time I paid £22 per month on a 24 month contract. For this I got 200 minutes, unlimited texts, a little internet (sorry I do not remember exactly how much) and £200 cash back.
Cons: Poor running memory prohibits normal use of the phone
Conclusion: This is probably oneof the first touch phones that came out and it sure was the first one i ever had. It's pretty good feature-wise; there are a lot of extra awesome feature that it has and some cool apps too (facebook, twitter, myspace, 2 games# but when we're talking about performance, it's not too good. The battery dies quickly even when the phone is not in use.
Summary: Overall i would say its a good phone with SOME things that could be made better but good value for its price.
Pros: Reasonable quality, good baterylife, the screen is bright. good layout and good the way it comes with a organiser and alarm and other things. Good phone for the price, doesnt break easy either... had the phone for 2 years dropped and stood on many times and its still working the same it did when it was bought. Good internal memory too.
Cons: touch screen is annoying tbh cause it unlocks itself and rings and texts random people leaving me with no credit when its needed. No way if accessing wifi or 3g. camera could be better but reasonable for the price. it wont let you have more than 100 messages in your inbox either so you have to keep deleting them even when you want to keep them. The phone lags quite a bit and is very slow when loading songs and pictures. And touch screen some times doesnt respond so you...
Excerpt: This is a basic affordable touchscreen java phone, nevertheless a decent phone. Some very good features include the digital phone call recording without beeps, a very simple calendar and organiser. The bad features are very few, including but maybe not limited to the auto-screen-lock when making phone calls and limited media capabilities. The phone isn't too bulky, even as a touchscreen.
Pros: Simple interface, easy to access commonly used features through the quick menu icons on - screen .
Cons: Auto - locks the keypad when making a phone call (feature can't be disabled) .
Excerpt: I bought this phone about two months ago and so far it has been brilliant. It has loads of games and applications. The phone has a camera, a radio, a video camera, a clock, a touch screen and loads more! It has everything that a teenager would want. I would not recommend this to adults though beacause it is so fiddly. For teenagers though it is a very good phone it is light, strong, fasionable and good value.
Difficult to use, seems to be designed to appeal to teenagers

Summary: Upon opening the box for this phone, I was really impressed with the appearance of this phone - it looks like a top-of-the range unit, and the touchscreen functions made me feel that I'd got a good deal, especially considering the GS290's low price. It has a good range of features for the price - an FM radio (which relies upon the headphones to get signal) which is easy to use, an MP3 player that supports a wide range of file formats, and a sizeable amount of what looks...
