LG GS290 Cookie Fresh Review: In Depth

Recombu
7 April 2011
  • Conclusion: The LG Cookie Fresh is a nice touchscreen phone and will satisfy the casual mobile user who wants a basic phone and to use for texting friends and listening to music. Social networking fiends and those who want to surf the web will be disappointed with the slow speeds, and will wish that LtG had left the Cookie Fresh in the oven for a few more minutes.

LG GS290 Cookie Fresh Touchscreen Mobile Phone

Tech2
29 January 2011
  • Excerpt: The latest in LG’s Cookie jar is the GS290 or Cookie Fresh. It’s designed to offer the younger mobile user all that a mobile phone should without having them break into their savings. Form Factor The Cookie range of devices, although they may be similar in features, do tend to make funky statements in the looks department. The Fresh is the same.

  • Conclusion: As the conclusion to my review I will say a closing statement that unfortunately my opinion is that as a ‘follow on’ handset from the extremely popular original LG Cookie the LG GS290 Cookie Fresh just isn’t a worthy successor to be honest.

  • Pros: LiveSquare remains a fun way of organising your favourite contacts and we were fans of the personalised messages LG has included
  • Cons: The EDGE data speeds meant we were often left waiting for the browser to catch up with our page scrolling

  • Excerpt: The is well built and smart looking, but it won’t set pulses racing. Everything is set out clearly and simply, making it easy to get to grips with. It’s pretty light on features – the lack of 3G is particularly disappointing. The two-megapixel camera and three-inch resistive touch-screen are probably the highlights.

LG Cookie Fresh GS290 review

PC Advisor
29 January 2011
  • Summary: LG’s Cookie phones have done well for themselves around the world on account of their reasonable performance coupled with a light price-tag. The LG Cookie Fresh GS290 is the newest phone to take on the Cookie tag and is looking to win over people looking for an inexpensive touchscreen device.

LG Cookie Fresh (GS290) Review

8 August 2010
  • Conclusion: I must admit, I’ve never been a huge fan of phones from LG, but the GS290 has really impressed me. Despite the crowded main menu screen and below par camera, the phone itself is a really tidy little device. It certainly doesn’t look or feel cheap and the seemingly limitless possibilities for customization make the LG Cookie Fresh (GS290) a real gem of a low-cost phone.
