LG Escape (AT&T) Review

LAPTOP Magazine
23 October 2012
  • Summary: With LG, budget is definitely not a dirty word. For $49.99, smartphone shoppers get a slim device with strong performance on AT&T's LTE network. In addition, the Escape offers a suite of fun features, such as QuickMemo. Those looking for a better display and stronger Kevlar design will want to shell out the extra $50 for the Motorola Atrix HD . Overall, though, the LG Escape is a great choice for bargain hunters who don't want to skimp on performance.

LG's Escape has the features and price you want, but not the performance you need

17 October 2012
  • Summary: The LG Escape's design and features make it more than a basic Android phone, but it doesn't have the complete performance chops to match.
  • Pros: The LG Escape has a bright display and a sturdy, comfortable design. Trendy features like LTE support, a fast dual-core processor, and Android 4.0 make it more than just an entry-level phone.
  • Cons: The Escape's 5-megapixel camera produces images of poor quality and the voice command feature was uneven. The battery drains quickly and the excessive bloatware is distracting.

Expert Review

Phone Arena
9 October 2012
  • Conclusion: After being impressed by the Pantech Flex recently, our expectations regarding entry-level smartphones has been heightened. Well, we have to admit that LG also has a formidable model that shouldn’t be taken for granted, as it competes nearly on the same level with its performance. Out of everything, it’s still rather difficult to choose this over Pantech’s offering, mainly because its design is so blah compared to the Pantech Flex.
  • Pros: Affordable $50 price point, Fast overall performance, Above normal battery life
  • Cons: Washed out display, Boring design, Captures terrible 1080p videos
