Excerpt: Pick something else. I bought this phone because it was one of the first really cool touch screens I had seen. It has a bunch of silly perks that I thought were cool - like quickly finding elmo's world episodes that I could lockdown and throw at my toddlers to entertain them quietly. It had a cute screen that you could put pictures of your five favorite peeps to call them quickly instead of going through your phonebook...
Excerpt: I remember when this phone came out, and people were raving how this is going to be the iPhone killer and what not. This is far from it. It's not even a smart phone. If anything the closest it can be is a media phone. The concept was really cool because of the touch screen interface and the media friendly modifications and such on the phone.
Excerpt: The LG Dare was the worst cell phone I have ever owned! The cell phone originally worked great, then after 10 months of using it, I started having problems. The left corner or the touch screen started changing color. Eventually this left hand corner didn't work at all. I couldn't text message or use the number pad on that side of the phone. I took it to the VZW customer service center and they told me it was my fault for carrying it in my purse. They replaced it. ...
Summary: This phone, (if it works) is an awesome product. I had previously owned and enjoyed 2 of these phones, which I purchased directly through Verizon. The features were great, and I loved the personalized Wallpaper slideshow capability. It had many of the "bells & whistles" of a smart phone, without all the apps I really don't want or need. I had used the enVDare phones for several years, but ultimately they wore out, as cell phones are apt to do.
Cons: Texting is a terrible pain in the ass. Freezes up BAD when receiving msgs. Turns off for no reason, even with a full battery life. Battery life decreased dramatically after 1yr. Phone stopped being able to charge, even while plugged in after 16mos . Touch
Pros: Easier use of the currently available phones for those who have a phsyical disability like loss of a hand.
Cons: Last night I had a 9 1/2 minute conversation on my VERIZON LG DARE cell phone. Without warning my face & ear started burning and I dropped the phone. I rarely use phones and I only charge it about 1 x a week. The battery is still the original.
Cons: I've had 2 of these on Verizon, and not one lasted more than a few months without keyboard messing up, can't use touchscreen because when you press one number another one is entered, etc... then second one simply went black after 4 months... junk!
Excerpt: I have had this phone for only a couple of months. It turns on and off for no reason, randomly calls people and texts people. The external backlight will turn off and you have to filp it open to use the phone or turn it off and then back on. The clock on the external screen disappears. Today it erased all my downloaded ringtones. It locks up while texting or trying to use the phone for any reason. It does not retain the words you save in T9.
