  • Conclusion: The JAMA was a real pleaser initially and the styling certainly gained a positive reaction, however the lack of 3G and WiFi were a bit of a disappointment and with continued use the lack of visual notification and the fiddly on screen keyboards were a bit of pain. I wouldn’t replace my current devices with the JAMA at the moment but with an update to iron out the stability issues the JAMA could be a real winner.

  • Summary: The i-mate? PDA2K Pocket PC boasts a series of improvements over the i-Mate? Sporting a 2.5in 65,000-colour 240 x 320 display, the XDA 2s also features a VGA digicam. Powered by a 400MHz Intel XScale PXA264 processor, the device contains 128MB of RAM and 96MB of ROM - on which is stored Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. An MMC/SD IO card slot is provided for expansion. Measuring 12.5 x 7.2 x 1.9cm, the XDA 2s weighs 205g.

  • Summary: Although it has a reasonable price tag, the JAMA 101 is simply missing too many features. The lack of 3G and physical keyboard will force most users to give it a miss.
  • Pros: Compact size, minimalist design
  • Cons: Small display, no keyboard, no 3G, no Wi-Fi, tri-band GSM, Bluetooth 1.2, USB 1.2, mediocre camera, slow processor
