Excerpt: I wanted to get a better phone so that I could browse the internet more easily. I had heard pretty good things about the Android phones, but did not want to commit to a contract. I then decided to go with the Huawei Ascend Phone from Cricket.
Pros: Works okay for the first two months. Very durable.. Drop it as much as you want, and believe me you will want to throw it across the room after using it. So it will survive that.
Cons: Horrible battery life, no wireless connectivity, freezes non stop, touch screen doesn't work at all!!! , if you want to use the Internet, good luck with that because it's not happening. Has no space whatsoever, you are always deleting texts.
Summary: I would NOT recommend this phone to ANYbody. It is absolutely pure rubbish! If I'd had the choice, I sure as heck wouldn't have even given it HALF star.
Pros: Android Apps
Cons: HORRIBLE battery life., CANNOT recalibrate the screen (which freaks out at LEAST FOUR TIMES A WEEK!, Terrible signal, Tends to lag a lot more than any 'smart' phone should., HORRIBLE call quality
Summary: This phone without a doubt, the worst I have ever had. It gets so frustrating to use it, especially when it freezes, which it does constantly. Battery always needs charging..I could go on and on..
Pros: Like the screen, has a trackball.
Cons: Freezes constantly, sometimes can't answer calls because of that. Everything force closes, shuts itself off and on, sometimes don't get text messages, keyborad slow.
Great phone for General android use, very affordable
5 January 2012
Summary: This phone gets a bad rap for a lot of reasons, mainly because it is owned by metro/cricket. I have owned an ascend for about 6 months now and love it. It does everything that i want in a smartphone at a severe fraction of the cost of a crappy Iphone (sorry apple, your OS sucks and i am against phones that shatter if you drop them, and it happens to everyone eventually) or the newest LG androids($600!!!! Might as well buy an Iphone).
Pros: Great sound quality. Large screen, Great for watching movies online. Picture quality is good., connects quickly to bluetooth accessories, Wifi tethering for multiple devices, Very stout phone, have dropped mine multiple times and still works great
Cons: Stock OS Sucks!!!It lags, and is full of metro bloatware. Flashed a new rom,(cyanogen Mod 7.2) Unbeliveably faster, Battery Life is OK if your just using it to call, 4-5 hours of talk time 2 days downtime.Screen is very sensitive
Excerpt: I purchased this in late january. i couldnt complain it was a good phone being that it was my first android. but as the months started going i seen that it started actin more slower, internet takes long to find connection. texting cant even keep up with me and sometimes misspell words, also i never seen a phone that would foreclose so much jus to get back to the home screen..
Excerpt: I bought it in June or July of 2011. It was my first Android, smartphone, touchscreen. I previously had a Blackberry Curve 8330. It was awesome when I had 2.1, but when I upgraded to 2.2 (Froyo), I instantly saw lagging and problems. Its not a bad phone but it could be better.
Pros: Not a bad phone for beginners
Cons: Slow if u update the Android sofware, Could be faster
Excerpt: it went so slow it froze at times, there wasnt enough reception when traveling, sometimes even lost the calls.. the ball at some point didnt work, at times when locking it didnt allow it or when trying to unlock the screen went blank or the slide thing was on the wrong side theres was a lot of trouble with these phone
Pros: big screen
Cons: no flash, the little ball sometimes didn't move
