Huawei Ascend G300

  • Summary: "Wow! Best phone I've ever had. I thought there must be a catch having such a good spec, plus fast as an iPhone 4 for just £100. Ten months on & its been 100% reliable, battery life is great, I often get 3 days of moderate use. After a smooth update to ICS its even better. Apps run smoothly & the 4" screen has just the right sensitivity. The solid build including Gorilla Glass has survived some nasty falls without a scratch.

Huawei

30 May 2012
  • Excerpt: Chinese manufacturer Huawei, once the secret name behind many network-branded handsets, is starting to make a name for itself in its own right and the bargain-priced Ascend G300 -- exclusive to Vodafone for the first three months -- with a four-inch screen and 1GHz processor, is worth shouting about. Baterry 1500mah in europe.

A nice device.

Dr. G. N. Hone, Amazon

  • Summary: I ordered this after my problems with a used Apple iphone 3GS. True it came locked to one service provider, but I had already identified an unlocking service. So, charge the battery, enter the unlock code and now I have a smartphone that runs off the SIM that I want, and the few bits of the old service provider's customisation are no problem. The wi-fi works first time.

  • Summary: My use of smartphone is very basic and this one serves my purposes extremely well. Though it was tied into Vodaphone, it was very simple to have it unlocked and ready for use with other SIMs.

great phone

  • Summary: Just adding to the other good reviews: Vendor: amazon.co.uk, Baseband: 2030 Firmware: B960, Network Locked to Vodafone. I've unlocked it for about 3 quid using the unlock service recommended on modaco. Google "u8815 unlock modaco". I've tried all sorts of ROMs (stock+, Infusion etc) but ended up restoring and modifying the original vodafone B960 as there isnt really a "The Rom" for this phone. yet. They are all a wee on the nerdy side to my liking.

Great budget phone!

  • Summary: Cant recommend this phone enough, has very speedy access to the Internet and also has Google play store which is great. The battery life is very good for a touch screen phone, I use my phone a lot and only need to charge it once every 2 days. the phone itself feels well made and sturdy, doesn't feel like it could break easily and the size fits perfectly into my hand, the only negative (a small one) is that it can be quite slippery to hold, but this can easily be...

Excellent Value for money

  • Summary: For a PAYG smart phone this is hard to beat. A bit laggy at times when switching screen orientation but for under £100 you cannot go wrong with this one.
