Pretty Damn Good Phone

Joe, Amazon
17 May 2011
  • Summary: This is a phone that I've actually gotten quite attached to. Got it back in 2007, and it's still holding up. After 4 years of much use and traveling, I've never had a problem. There isn't even a single scratch on the screen, and I never even bought a screen protector for it. The only things I've had to replace were the stylus a couple times, and the back once. The stylus is sturdy and works well, but eventually the tip broke off it.

Everything I expected is there.

  • Summary: I had HTC Touch Pro with Windows Mobile 6 before so it was like a quantum leap to another era. I am amazed of in how such short time, phones can develop in such a fast pace. Even though I liked my previous tiny "fatso" alot, the HTC I had before had serious overheating issues, with WiFi on it lasted about an hour, GPS signals were a headache and screen sensitivity was not even comparable. The new G2 (or Vision/Desire Z) impressed me from the start.

  • Summary: I bought the NewPhone hct three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours.

HTC G1 (Unlocked)

ysellit, Ebay
7 April 2011
  • Summary: I wanted to use a G1 on the AT&T network, and found an unlocked (originally TMobile) phone. Skeptical as to how easily this Android smartphone would mesh with its competitor carrier, I followed some online instructions to activate it. It required an initial access of Gmail in order to sync contacts; a nice gesture but could be aggravating if you don't have Gmail, a data plan to access the internet, or just want to talk and text.
