An updated version, the P3452, was released in November and featured twice the amount of memory and two new colors: White and Burgundy. Both the older and newer models have a microSD card slot for memory expansion.
This PDA phone has a 2.8 inch TFT LCD touchscreen running at QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) resolution, a 2 megapixel CMOS color camera, WiFi b/g connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0. The device runs on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional platform and has handwriting recognition software built-in.
The HTC Touch’s main and unique selling point is its user interface. Dubbed TouchFLO, the interface is capable of recognizing sweeping motions made by either the user’s fingers or the included stylus. The phone’s multimedia functions (photo album, music and video player) and photo-based address book navigation can all be done through finger gestures. The TouchFLO’s finger and stylus gesture-based navigation has brought on comparisons to the Apple iPhone, although the HTC Touch was released a few weeks earlier and does not feature the multi-touch gestures of the iPhone.
With the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0 software powering the HTC Touch, the device comes loaded with, among other things, Pocket Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and a PDF Viewer) and the Internet Explorer Mobile (or PocketIE) web browser.

Do I like the Touch? Surprisingly, despite its rather run-of-the-mill hardware specifications, I found that I really do like it. Also, unlike some other Pocket PC phones I've tested, I feel comfortable using it. The only real issue I have is the text input. Without a keypad or a keyboard or even a usable software keyboard/alphanumeric keypad, sending SMS messages on this device can be challenging. And while the text-input issue can hopefully be addressed in the next ROM... Read more
The Touch is HTC's attempt to improve the user experience of Windows Mobile Professional devices by adding a layer that makes it much easier to interact with the touch screen. The TouchFLO technology used by HTC adds enhancements to the home screen, several applications, and a touch-friendly version of album software. TouchFLO works well in some instances, for example in contacts and with the new album software, but we found it was difficult to use in many cases,... Read more
One thing that is missing is a VGA screen, this device would have been fantastic with VGA instead of QVGA in this form factor, because of the QVGA I cannot see any reason why you would buy this instead of the HTC Diamond, at the time of writing there is a price difference of £48.00 with the Diamond being more expensive. For the extra cost you would gain 4 gigs of built in storage, auto focus camera and a VGA screen, the choice is yours. Read more

I have had an iPhone, Blackberry Curve, two Blackberry Pearls, Verizon VX6800, and a Palm Treo. I've been around the block when it comes to "smartphones." The HTC Touch has been a pleasent surprise. I was a little skeptical about having a PDA phone without a physical keyboard. I loved the Pearl's text input (Suretype) and was surprise to see a virtual "suretype" style keyboard. The keypad for text input has 20 keys arranged like a QWERTY keybard with two letters to a... Read more

I just got my new HTC Touch phone yesterday and I love it. It is hard to text while I drive, which is probably a good thing that I cannot do that anymore. Once I got the basic calling and texting down, I love it. It was kind of a headache at first, but I love it. And I love the cute ringtones and tones it can make when I receive messages. I have excellent reception, and I just love the phone. I just wish I could figure out how to make the buttons bigger when I am texting... Read more

I bought the Touch about 8 months ago. It sync's very well with my Vista laptop and with the company's exchange server. My biggest complaint: sometimes it is slow. It needs a faster CPU and more memory. The Windows Mobile software is great!!!! Read more
