The third time around we still like this smartphone. In fact, it beats the original Euro Diamond and fixes our complaints with that firstborn. The Diamond is certainly the wave of the future, with its innovative and pleasurable user interface with the power of Windows Mobile underneath. HTC's software is well-designed, with finger-friendly targets, an enlarged Start Menu option and controllable finger-scrolling in places like contacts and the weather country/city picker.... The HTC Touch Diamond is currently the best smartphone we’ve used for Verizon, beating out the Samsung Omnia and BlackBerry Storm . The combination of TouchFlo3D interface, high quality VGA display, 3.2MP camera, and excellent call quality make it hard to beat. It’s powerful enough for the most hardcore business and techie users, but friendly enough that just about anyone can pick it up and go. Our only complaint is that the video player won’t play DivX and Xvid... Read more

A luxury touchscreen phone with a better Web browsing experience than the Samsung Instinct , Sprint’s Touch Diamond takes the original unlocked GSM version that we reviewed June 2008 and adds support for services like the Sprint Music Store and Sprint TV. The fun and intuitive TouchFLO 3D interface remains intact, and Sprint even kept the robust Opera browser, too. For $249, this is a sharp but slightly sluggish handset many will envy, even if it is pricey. Read more

This phone is totally worthless. It can't stand up to daily use, which believe it or not is not my biggest problem with the phone. The thing is slower than molasses running uphill in winter. There is a good 2 sec delay between each screen when navigating though anything. The internet is so slow i don't even use it...it is easier for me to drive to the nearest library and log onto a computer than it is for me to try to access anything on my phone. When I have attepted to... Read more

Do not recommend it if you are on GPRS or edge network. Do not recommend it for traveling because of the roam issue Phone also crashes religiously when switching from landscape view to portrait view. Even with XDA developers not a whole lot of homebrew or thirdpart programs out there for the phone! bought a blackberry 9700 instead Read more

If the HTC Touch Diamond is judged as a consumer device, it would fail miserably. That is because the Diamond runs Windows Mobile 6.1 which was never a consumer friendly OS. Many elements of the OS interface appears outdated and it's often confusing to navigate with the tiny menus and cryptic labels. That being said, HTC had done an admirable job of hiding Windows Mobile with their own UI, TouchFlo3D (which is essentially just a Today-screen plugin). TouchFlo3D allows... Read more
