  • Conclusion: One of the better Touch smartphones from HTC. The satnav works well and there's plenty more besides. Just don't rely on the camera too much! And don't get us started on the Cruise control...
  • Pros: Touch Cruise. Hmm, sounds like something a Tom Cruise stalker might say. Moving on swiftly, the Cruise improves on HTC's first two Touch phones by adding GPS and TomTom's Navigator 6 software to the ranks. As a satnav it’s a breeze to use thanks to its large, touch screen-friendly icons and the control wheel. Elsewhere the Wi-Fi and HSDPA keep you speedily connected to the web, while Windows Mobile 6 means it's a cinch to use Outlook email and various other apps.
  • Cons: The 2.8-inch touchscreen is pretty basic compared to the iPhone's. HTC's TouchFLO interface allows you to swipe through contacts and options, but we found ourselves reaching for the stylus to tap smaller icons. Satnav-wise, it’s UK maps-only, and costs £70 to upgrade with Euro maps. As for the camera it’s a basic 3-megapixel jobbie that's prone to overexposure.
