HTC Tattoo (unlocked)

CNET
16 June 2010
  • Summary: The HTC Tattoo is a fair entry-level Android device with a cool customization feature, but there are better options for the North American market.
  • Pros: The HTC Tattoo is compact, but still offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The Android 1.6 device is enhanced by HTC Sense.
  • Cons: It has a small, low-resolution screen. The smartphone also doesn't support North American 3G bands.

HTC Tattoo Review

Bright Hub
21 February 2010
  • Excerpt: This HTC Tattoo review reveals that this device is smaller but similar to the HTC EVO 4G. The HTC Tattoo is an accessible Android device that won't break the bank. The HTC EVO 4G always seems to be out of stock, but the HTC Tattoo is the next best...

HTC's Tattoo smartphone is a smaller, cheaper version of the company's flagship Android handset, the Hero.

Good Gear Guide.au
13 July 2010
  • Summary: The HTC Tattoo is a fine smartphone, but the small, lower-resolution display and the lack of multitouch may force many users to shell out extra for the more expensive Hero.
  • Pros: Compact design, customisable covers, Sense UI, zippy and functional, contacts integration, 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Cons: Small resistive display, no multitouch, on-screen keyboard is a little cramped

HTC Tattoo review

expertreviews.co.uk
2 July 2010
  • Excerpt: The HTC Tattoo is a cute little Android phone that's available free on contract for £20 a month. Despite its budget price, it has all the features you'd expect on a smartphone, including GPS, FM Radio, Bluetooth and WiFi. It may not be as sleek as HTC's other Android phones, but the Tattoo's curved chin and large, round central button give it character. All the controls are located on the phone's chin, with only a volume rocker on the side.

HTC Tattoo

Pocket Lint
21 October 2009
  • Conclusion: Overall the HTC Tattoo experience is a good one. Sure, it is a noticeable step down from the Hero and rightly so. You don't get the same touch response and it doesn't look as sharp as the Hero. The keyboard experience isn't as good (with a caveat on long nails) and the browser doesn't have the same natural experience without multi-touch.
  • Pros: Affordable, compact, HTC Sense, full tech spec sheet
  • Cons: Marketplace currently a little sparse, resistive touchscreen downgrades the experience, onscreen keyboard a little too small
