Mytouch kit

Overstock
21 May 2010
  • Summary: The kit arrived very fast, and it was a great buy. The only problem I had was that the home charger made my phone do weird things when it was plugged ( screen jumping, freezing), but thankfully I didn't need it. Otherwise it's great!

HTC Magic from Vodafone

  • Summary: Very intuitive. Decided on Magic because I only got a 32GB i-pod touch last year. Android app store not as goo as Apple's, with the majority very US-centric. It hooks up with your home WiFi network like a dream! Synchronization with Google contacts and calendar is dead easy! Problems?

  • Excerpt: The phone atracteted me with its Android OS but that was basiclly it. Hopefully the new updates of the OS would make it worth the money and broaden its limited functionality.
  • Pros: Android OS
  • Cons: No flash,, no 3.5mm jack,, the RAM is only 192Mb,, no video calling,, no Radio

HTC Magic

greewny, CNET

  • Summary: I previously owned a blackberry bold, and this phone in my opinion is so much better! Starting with the screen size, it's just perfect, you can view any webpage and move around the page with your finger or using the scroll ball, compared with the blackberry bold which had a small screen.
  • Pros: The screen size. The on screen keyboard. The Google Sync. The Apps store.
  • Cons: The camera is a letdown.

In conclusion: it can still do a great job, too bad the selection of apps gets smaller every day.

  • Excerpt: I've bought my Magic in December 2009 - my first venture into the touch-screen area. Back then, it was top-notch and had very few comparable rivals. With its 3.2" display it looked huge and crystal clear - the second part being still true.

The best phone I've owned so far.

  • Excerpt: I purchased my HTC Magic last December and it's quite literally been the best phone I've ever hard. I was slightly skeptical about using the Android platform, but with the recent improvements and choice of apps and games I'm so glad I bought this handset.

Simply amazing. Strong contender against the iPhone!

  • Excerpt: Based on the appearance, I saw this phone as a collaboration of the BlackBerry and the iPhone due to it's rollerball navigation as well as the touchscreen technology. I've never bought an Android phone before and I've got to tell you, they definitely won't let you down!
  • Pros: Touchscreen AND rollerball .  Easy to use interface .  1000's of free apps and games .  Sleek design .
  • Cons: No flash on camera .

  • Excerpt: I got one of these for my wife, but decided to go for a different model (Samsung Jet) myself because I wasn't sure of the white colour for the HTC case - how I wish I'd gone for the HTC Magic now!! What do you get?
