  • Summary: For the right user, the HTC Freestyle offers a beginner smartphone experience without the high price.
  • Pros: The HTC Freestyle has a solid, user-friendly design with all the essential features you need for communication.
  • Cons: The HTC Freestyle lacks an accelerometer and Wi-Fi. The speakerphone is barely usable, and there are too many superfluous apps.

  • Conclusion: Overall, we like the HTC Freestyle except for two points…the poorly designed battery door, and the continual “hiss” heard while on calls. The second of these we consider the more serious, and a deal-breaker for some, as it becomes annoying for any calls lasting more than a few minutes.
  • Pros: Highly customizable HTC Sense interface, Device feels solid overall, Plenty of pre-loaded apps
  • Cons: Constant “hiss” heard in every call, Poorly designed battery door, Lacks Wi-Fi
