Bargain phone bought as a starter smart phone

Cat Lady58, Amazon
29 September 2013
  • Summary: Great for the price but next time I'll get a bigger model. If you're fat fingered you'll need a stylus to send text messages. Camera & video good. Contacts often whiz past when you try to select them. Fine for the person I bought it for.

User Review

bmgsfep, Cnet.co.uk
6 August 2013
  • Summary: Bought this phone for its size but it really is the worst phone I have EVER owned (and that includes other smartphones as well as old 2G and even 1G phones). It's extremely slow, it's next to unusuable for basic things like Facebook, Twitter or Whatsapp. Internal memory is a joke: you CANNOT install more than 2 apps using the internal memory and the vast majority of USEFUL apps won't install on the SD card.
  • Pros: size
  • Cons: everything else

  • Conclusion: HTC Explorer has much to explore as it's a 3G SIM smartphone using android OS.Screen size is not to big just 3.2 inches,90MB internal storage and external memory is expandable upto 32GB. Camera is 3.12MP with geo-tagging feature, quality of image is also good. The apps can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, which gives u a chance to explore many exciting apps. It's a good phone which u can trust on.

Broken after 5 weeks

Julien Petch, Amazon
26 July 2013
  • Summary: Got the phone. Seemed great then one day stopped working. I emailed the company and returned it to them, they kept it for weeks and said it was the battery but at the same time said it worked fine charging in the PC.....makes no sense. Anyway they refused to fix it or give me a refund and returned it. I tried in PC and guess what...nothing they lied to me. Customer service from Cash Converters is VERY BAD and even a little rude.

A Value For Money Offering

Akhil, zopper.com
15 July 2013
  • Conclusion: HTC explorer is a well built and functional device at an impressive price of around 6000 inr. It has the older gingerbread version of android which might disappoint some of the buyers if they plan to invest on the phone now. It is a good phone for people who want to use it for their daily activities like calling, social networking, light gaming, internet browsing etc.The only prominent problem the users might face is the lack of internal memory (around 90 MB for storage)...

Good middle range handset

albino, Amazon
25 May 2013
  • Summary: The only remark I can do to this handset is the internal memory a too small. If it had a larger memory to store your apps would be a serious contender to more advertized models. A serious contender in the middle range handset. Great battery.

  • Conclusion: never ever buy this phone please!! this is just a waste of money. this phone is completely outdated it has android 2.3 ginger bread and a 600 mhz qualcomm processor and a kernal version of 2.4. if you want to play games like temple run and subway surfer then: i must tell you that these games does not work and this is a low end phone if you want to buy a phone in this range then buy samsung galaxy y or samsung galaxy ace. the sound quality is very poor.
