Summary: I use a Sprint HTC EVO 4G while in the USA, but needed a small, cheap GSM Android phone to roam with internationally. I tried several, but this one was by far the best. The screen is small, but very bright, responsive and plenty big enough to use. It is fast (unlike some others), and seems to have plenty of memory. It runs all the apps I need perfectly well. The multi-touch screen is very responsive. This is a well thought out, low budget offering by HTC.
Summary: I bought this phone a month ago. It is a great phone, with Android Gingerbread version. The applications run much faster than my previous Samsung Galaxy Gio. It is also compact. The only issue I found is that Skype does not work correctly on HTC Explorer. Although, it meets minimum requirements for Skype, but due to some reason, the audio is terrible, and cuts off. The only workaround I found was to use handsfree, but even that doesn't always work.
Summary: This is by far the best smartphone price wise you can find, I recently purchased this phone and it has so many features that come along without the need to install anything else; it has mail (to check all email accounts), it has people app (to manage all your contacts, syncing with facebook, gmail, yahoo, etc, so that you don't have to add any contact you know; it has a built-in gps, so that you know where you are and what is near you at all times.
Summary: First, one star is gone due to the seller eXpansys, Inc. who shipped me European model charger, and threw in an adapter to work in US system. Lame. If one has to get grey market units to sell them cheap here, this is not cool. It works, but now the charger is effectively two times larger since the adapter is a part of it.

Summary: I bought this phone on a whim with minimal research. I was umming and aaagghing about getting an iphone but kept balking at the cost especially as I had an ipod already which I use constantly for listening to podcasts, wi-fi at home and the office, and reading books. So what did I need in a phone I finally asked myself? Phone, email and internet. Occasionally a camera and the option of reading a book if I am without my ipod.
