The HTC Droid Eris is an android smartphone that hails from HTC’s Droid series and is targeted at the lower-end market as it is said to be the cheapest Android phone at the moment. It comes in the form of a monoblock bar and is only available in Black. The HTC Droid Eris is said to be a shape shift of the HTC Hero.

Specifications

The HTC Droid Eris measures 4.45 in x 2.19 in x 0.51 in (H x W x D) in dimension and weighs approximately 4.23 oz. It has an internal antenna with input device in the form of a touchscreen that has finger touch capacitive capabilities. In addition to that, it also features predictive text input. Not only that, there is also a trackball for navigation controls. In terms of memory, the HTC Droid Eris has a memory slot that is compatible with microSD memory cards. There is also a 5 mega pixel camera with auto focus functions. The HTC Droid Eris is compatible with CDMA communication standard type Ev-DO rA for bands 850 and 1900 MHz. Not only that, it also has an LCD touch screen colour display screen that measures 3.2 inches and has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The HTC Droid Eris operates on an Android 1.6 operating system and on a 52h MHz Qualcomm MSM7600 CPU with a memory of 512 MB ROM/ 256 MB RAM. In addition to that, it also incorporates Sense UI integration. Not only that, there is also a HTML browser and Bluetooth 2.1 capabilities as well as a virtual on-screen QWERTY keyboard. The HTC Droid Eris has an expansion slot that comes with a pre-installed 8 GB microSDHC card with the option to expand up to 16 GB. The HTC Droid Eris also has a 3.5 mm headset jack.
