The Garmin Asus A10 is a touchscreen smartphone running on the Android™ platform that is optimized for pedestrian navigation. Available in mid-2010, the A10 is designed for city navigation and sports a 3.2-inch HVGA touch screen, electronic compass and is powered by a 1500mAh battery. The phone is pre-loaded with detailed maps that provides users with turn-by-turn, voice-prompted navigation if they are out of cell phone coverage. The unit is ideal for pedestrian as well as automobile navigation and comes with a powered audio mount that magnifies the volume of the device’s voice commands.

There are more than 30,000 applications to expand and personalize the phone to fit a user’s lifestyle. The A10 is compatible with Microsoft Exchange server and wirelessly synchronize contacts, calendar and enterprise email. It also features a Webkit browser with multi-touch, five mega-pixel camera with auto-focus capability that automatically geotags images with a location reference; a built-in accelerometer which changes the display so that screens may be viewed in portrait or landscape mode; and comes with optional cityXplorer™ maps, which lets users plan and use routes that include public transit options such as bus, tramway, metro and suburban rail systems.
