Not so good

  • Excerpt: "I have a Ericsson T18s and I to be honest am not that impressed with it. I mean it looks great, small, compact and just stylish in general, however what is with that massive arial? Its just too big and because of its size I have ended up breaking it by accident, it just sticks out a long way at such a weird angle! Also the keys are not actually that easy to use and took ages for me to get used to due to having to really put pressure on them ...
  • Pros: Looks great, nice and small
  • Cons: Big angled thing on the top !

Excellent Ericsson Car Hands Free

johnalder..., Ciao
24 February 2001
  • Excerpt: "I have been using the T18s for about one year now (on the Cellnet network) and reception is excellent compared to earlier phones (have been with Celnett since 1987). My one complaint is that the phone does have the habit of turning itself off on occasions. Ericsson does an excellent self-fit car kit which consists of a cradle to fix to the facia, and a speaker and microphone which fits to the roof-lining of the car just above the drivers ear. The ...

  • Excerpt: After 10 years of using Nokia products I became disillusioned with their poor reliability. I had never been keen on the looks of the admittedly well renowned Ericsson’s until the launch of this model and it’s sibling the T10. A neat looking little handset with a multitude of features including programmable ring tones, vibrating alert and an active flip. And I am not disappointed with the reliability either.

  • Excerpt: The Ericsson T18s was the second phone I bought and I still have it now, even though I want to buy the new T28s, which is amazing in looks and functions. But the T18s is a good phone but not very nice looking but the menus and functions are brilliant and is a good phone to start with.

It's quality, not quantity...

  • Excerpt: "I have to say, the compact little T 18 is the best phone I've had. It's got all the functions you'd expect from a quality prouct as it is, but it's got that little extra too. It's pretty easy to use, I've never needed to refer to the manual, but it looks like a pretty comprehensive manual if I were to need it. One of it's best features in my opinion is that it's small, an so fits in your pocket without an unfortunate bulge! Also the vibrate function ...
  • Pros: Compact, and it vibrates
  • Cons: No predictive text messaging

Pocketsized

  • Excerpt: "A phone which slips easily into your pocket has both plus and minus points. Carrying it in my pocket means I drop it less than I have done with it's fore-runners. But it isn't always easy to hear the muffled tones through heavy material. I have been using my T18s for 6 months now, since changing my mobile company. As it was free! It was excellent value for money. It replaced another Ericsson handset, which had given me faithful service for over 2 ...
  • Pros: Size and weight are a major plus and it fits nicely onto the dashboard !
  • Cons: Battery never lasts me a long working day without needing to use the in - car charger .

Not as good as advertised

little.de..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: "I purchased a T18s because it had the facility to send text messages without typing in the recipients number each time. I was also attracted by the size and it's voice calling facility. Within 6 days of having the phone it developed a fault. It repeatedly switched itself off. The suppliers repaired it, or so they said but again the problem recurred. They relaced the phone which they could not do instore (Car pPhone Warehouse) by courier, which was ...
  • Pros: Compact and user friendly
  • Cons: Known fault with the sim card insertion

  • Excerpt: The T18 is a compact phone with all the features that the average cellphone user needs. It is comfortable to carry and talk into, it has excellent reception and sound quality, and the commonly needed functions are easy to use. Were it not for the mediocre battery and the uncomfortable and not-so-durable dialpad it would be a killer. The T18's greatest advantage is probably its compact shape that makes it fit comfortably in almost any pocket.

  • Excerpt: The T18 is a good phone, it has an active flip and the quality of the microphone is very good. It has all the standard features as well as a few other extra ones. It supports voice dialling, you can store up to ten numbers in its voice dialling phone book. You can also answer calls using your voice only. It has a vibration facility which allows you to know if you are being called without it ringing. The phone also has data/fax capabilities.

Best phone I have used

daeron, Ciao

  • Excerpt: "After upgrading my D170 to a T10 I wasnt impressed so I took it back and swapped it for a T18 - I would recommend this phone to anyone who uses their phones a lot. The vibrate alert is noticable in your pocket, voice dialling is a godsend on handsfree. It has an active flip which covers the keypad, unlike most Nokias where the keys are exposed and can be pressed accidentally. My only criticism of this phone is that the keypad isnt really designed ...
  • Pros: Active flip, voice dialling, useful accessories
  • Cons: Small keypad, average battery life
