BlackBerry Z10 Review

Tech2
3 December 2013
  • Excerpt: Editor’s note: This review is based on an early seeding unit that was given to select media outlets. Subsequent to the device’s release in the Indian market, the phone has received an OS update that resolves some of the issues highlighted in this review. And by making available MapmyIndia’s map suite for free, Blackberry has addressed the lack of a native maps application with India maps, too.

BlackBerry Z10

CNET
2 May 2013
  • Summary: BlackBerry's first BB10 smart phone is a decent device, with a brand-new interface and some great software features like BBM and built-in photo editing. App selection is lacking, however, with available applications often overpriced or hard to find. Combined with software quirks, a high price and a terrible maps app, the Z10 is a reasonable first effort for BlackBerry, but not more deserving of your cash than its established iOS and Android rivals.
  • Cons: Apps are lacking, hard to find or too expensive; Interface quirks will prove annoying; Awful maps app; Mediocre battery life; Expensive.

BlackBerry Z10 (Verizon)

LAPTOP Magazine
2 April 2013
  • Summary: The Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Z10 should satisfy BlackBerry's ravenous fan base and could even bring back former users who fled the brand for greener pastures. This smartphone's touch-screen keyboard is the best around, and the overall interface is a huge improvement over the company's previous offerings. We also appreciate the camera's Time Shift feature.
  • Pros: Strong multitasking capabilities, BlackBerry Hub serves as a universal inbox, Best touch-screen keyboard on the market, Video chat and screen sharing available through BBM
  • Cons: Short battery life, Erratic LTE performance, Occasional performance lag, Some key apps missing

BlackBerry Z10

Wired
22 March 2013
  • Excerpt: It won’t dethrone Android or put a major dent in Apple’s iPhone dominance. But it will make current BlackBerry users happy enough to lay down some cash. They’ve been waiting for a good shot in the arm for too long, and with its modern operating system and rich app platform, this is a very capable device that will exceed their expectations. It’s a phone that’s meant to do much more than just send secure e-mail.

Expert Review

Channel5
1 February 2013
  • Summary: BlackBerry 10 on the Z10 shows some promise. There are flashes of inspiration in there - they’re just lumped in with navigation features and interfaces that feel like they were put there just for the sake of being different. If you’ve already made the jump to iPhone, Android or even Windows Phone, it’s not enough to tempt you back. The only people we can really see sticking with it are those who want that unified inbox you just can’t get anywhere else.

BlackBerry Z10

teknofil.no
23 May 2014
